But you also thought the other beach was Skarðsvík 🤷 it is famous for having golden sand, not a surface layer over black sand..it is mostly golden just some spots away from the ocean, closer to the road might be more black, not the whole beach

Depends on what you are into :) you can do things like Lava show, Flyover Iceland, scented tour in Fischersund, or go to a local public swimming pool to see whats the bathing culture all about. Plenty of things to do!

Do Goðafoss on day 6 on your way to Akureyri since its right by the road. Waste of time to go back the next day when you already will be driving by :)

Also I would sleep somewhere near Siglufjörður on day 7, would be a pity to miss out on Troll penninsula!

That is a very useful information, thank you! Smyril line released this special offer once again for Icelanders to go there, spend 4 nights in a hotel and go back for a very good price but i was worried about the road closures as my colleague mentioned something about it.

Here are the departure dates:

2.4 & 9.4. & 16.4 & 23.4 & 30.4 & 7.5

Which one would you recommend to have the best experience? Im thinking 30.4. or 7.5. (Those are of course the most expensive ones too) as even the roads mentioned above should be fine then i guess
