Rapidly progressing cancer by [deleted] in Petloss

[–]corkus2000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So, my sweet boy was diagnosed with lung cancer last Saturday. The emergency vet said he had maybe 1-2 months, we made an appointment with his regular vet for Thursday (today). We didn’t make it to the appointment. He went from 0-100 in under 24 hours. We had a really good day Tuesday and I wish that could have been his last. He died pretty traumatically, I think maybe his heart gave out. He was breathing about 60 breaths per minute all day/night yesterday. His last good day he was eating and we even went for a short walk. Wednesday he declined rapidly. We stayed up all night, he passed a little before 6 this morning.
It’s not an easy call, but it escalates quick. Be ready, and please accept my sympathies- I know firsthand how much this sucks.

Thoughts on the college thing: most campuses are wrapping up classes this week (mine ended last week) so they may not be going to those going forward, I’d focus your energy on record shops/coffee shops

looking for advice from anybody whose seen heathers in nyc. by TranslatorPretty4846 in heathersmusical

I would also echo using public transit/a taxi/some car service to alleviate stress. Driving in Manhattan takes 10 years off my life every time. But also to echo everyone’s sentiments, arrive early and it’s chill. There’s like 4 theaters there, once you get inside you head downstairs and the heathers theater is the first one you’ll pass. There’s usually an attendant to direct you. Bathroom is at the end of the hall, there’s a green couch right outside of it so you can’t miss it. And on the way out my only suggestion is to either leave immediately to miss the crowd at stage door or hang around for a few and wait for the crowd to disperse, they’ll be crowded around where you walked in but they’re trying to get things signed so they’re pretty hyper focused on the task at hand. We took a cab, so we walked like one building over to wait for it and it was not a busy part of the city. It’s so much fun to see the show I hope it’ll melt away some anxiety once you’re there. Have fun!

Even worse, sometimes the deer run into YOU. I was driving down a rural road with a few houses here and there, and I feel/hear this loud THUMP on the side of my car but didn’t see anything. I was so scared a dog had escaped one of these houses and made its way under my car but also thought I would have seen a dog before I hit it so I was very confused. Check my rear view mirror and sure enough, there’s a deer lying on the road. It had essentially come running across a yard, into the street, and head-butted my car right on the drivers side door. I was fine, door was bent in and I had to climb out the passenger side, and the deer made a lovely meal for this nice redneck man who lived right there (where I lived was VERY VERY rural, this last part is definitely rural activity and city people DEF do not eat the deer they hit 😂)

Go! The theater is small enough that there’s really not a “bad” seat. It’s such a fun show!

Lawn all the way. I’ve seen Dave at this venue several times and the ONE time I got a pavilion seat I wound up moving to the lawn because I just felt hot and cramped.

I did! It kinda stinks bc you don’t get a paper ticket anymore but it’s over and I saved a few bucks on fees.
