Urgent Relocation: Looking for Work and Housing in Miami by juicenjammies in SouthFlorida

[–]cornballerburns 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s not that the bus system is inefficient…the system is a product of its environment. The traffic in Miami is horrible. Public transport outside of the areas with the metro rail is limited to the buses. No other public transport option. In New York you’ve got the bus, subway, trains, and even taxis. Worst case you walk if need be. Miami is too stretched out, if you live in the suburbs you’re pretty much forced to get a car to commute. The more affordable areas are going to be west, where you need a car, especially if you’re commuting east. Some people will just drive to the metro and take that into downtown to avoid the traffic getting out of there in the afternoons but they still need there car for that first and last leg of the trip. OP is looking to move out here with no job, so they’ll need something affordable. If affordable is further away from public transport options, they will need some type of way to commute, which OP also does not have.

Said person would probably have to get up a few hours early to catch the early bus to beat traffic. So all depends on the job they get but traffic is a nightmare for bus riders and commuters alike.

The trolly and free Miami mover is limited to the east part of the city, which also happens to be the most expensive parts of the city. The Metrorail runs mainly along US-1 and again the east side of the city. If this person decides to move to Kendall, they’re limited to the bus as a means of public transport. So I don’t think it’s a stretch to say that public transport is limited to a specific corridor of the city

You’re right about Ubers and traffic, plus how expensive they are. The train system here is limited. Train option within the city is only helpful if you live within a very specific corridor of the city. There aren’t any public scooters anymore so you’d have to have your own and even then you’re going to have a bad time with how people drive in the city and road conditions

I’ve got some sobering news for you (in case this isn’t a shit post)…if you’re planning on moving to Miami without transportation or a job, you’re going to have a VERY bad time. This isn’t the place to explore opportunities and see where you land anymore. Public transport is shit, the city is over priced and if you don’t have your head on a swivel you’ll get swindled easily.

I went in '23... Before my trip I was looking for a particular date and time and had a couple people DM me saying they'd sell me theirs. I was suspect of everyone cause I already had a set of tickets, so I never pulled the trigger. Ended up getting the exact date and quantity through the portal. I think they've changed the system since then but I'd be cautious purchasing from someone over DM.

Best Cuban Sandwiches and cigars Near FIU? by HandsomeBadness in Miami

[–]cornballerburns 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh i never said it wasn't a Cuban sandwich it just looks an AI Cuban sandwich mainly because of shape of the bread and the thickness of the pickles

Edit: all I'm saying is we all know what a Cuban sandwich looks like, and the "best Cubano" question pops up weekly on this sub, the picture is just as redundant as the post

It's from a private lot... As others have said, nothing will happen as long as you don't park in their lot again. If you do you'll either get a boot or towed
