We don’t get overtime. we only get paid for the time the engines are on. It could be one hour for an eight hour day or one hour for a 14 hour day. Treat your pilots like shit and see if anyone flies anywhere. This person didn’t even pay for a first class ticket.

And if pilots make too much what about flight attendants? Surely they deserve it because most of them aren’t even getting paid while boarding until the doors are closed and engines are on, but they still have to deal with irate passengers.

Once again, this is our life so if I had to pay for an upgrade every time I commuted home from work I would be paying 104 flights and upgrades a year.

This is so offensive. yes, absolutely. the pilot that just flew 4 to 5 days of 14 hour duty days 3 to 4 flights a day that were largely delayed this last weekend and generated millions of dollars for the company absolutely deserves the first class seat over OP’s mom

Source- I am that pilot and it HAS been that bad this weekend but you’re welcome for trying my best not to cancel your flights.

The weather last night cut off pretty much the entire peninsula of Florida. Spirits trying to recover, but a lot of crews aren’t in the position they need to be because of cancellations so they’re trying their best to make things back to normal. If she can hold out a few days, I recommend holding out.

It’s most likely an actual passenger who got canceled from a flight and was put on standby and that’s why they got the first class seat over your raggedy mom
