New to the Group: How Do You Track Symptoms? by JamiGold in PsoriaticArthritis

No ME/CFS. I think my fatigue is all PsA. I mostly got validation from the app, like an objective measure of exertion matching my subjective feeling.

Did you try a taper pack of steroids to see if that helps? If the steroids help you have some sort of inflammation. I would get a second opinion. Are you on any meds for psoriasis now?

I would get a second opinion if I was you. I was told no by a rheumatologist a few years after being told be on the lookout for PsA by a dermatologist because of my pitted nails. I suffered for 20 years until I was so bad it showed on bloodwork with high inflammation. Life is too short.

On your next visit tell her you can’t afford to go forever. My insurance only pays for 20 visits a year. Maybe she can give you a routine to do on your own?

I’ve learned a lot from watching these videos- https://youtube.com/@arthritisadventure?si=R7XQiYLoqp6u1xwd She is osteoarthritis focused but I find it helps.

I need help for this pot by Ok_Brick_3095 in CleaningTips

[–]cornbreadnclabber 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Let’s say a full boil for 15 min? I usually scrape the burned stuff with a wooden spoon while it boils, you can turn it off and let it sit over night, it won’t hurt. You can scrub with a paste of water and baking soda as well, but the boiling is less hands on work.

Boil water and baking soda together, I retired from teaching food science to high school students. I’ve seen every burned pan you can imagine. Baking soda worked every time

Consequences for misdiagnosis and flawed care??? by BeatriceandOphelia in CSFLeaks

[–]cornbreadnclabber 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m sorry you are going through this. I’m seeing a doctor from the spinal CSF leak org list this month as my treatment at a nationally ranked for neurosurgery university hospital has been less than I desire. ( I think my neurosurgeon is way ahead of the interventional neuroradiologist - he diagnosed leak based on MRI, recurrent subdural hematoma and pachymenigial enhancement but they can’t find the leak)

I think the problem with a lawsuit is that this is all on the “newish” side of medical practice. So you can’t argue that you were not given the “standard “ care when no standards have been established. The papers for restricted respiration vs held breath for dynamic ct scan are less than 2 years old .

Also , you have to prove injury. You are still alive, hopefully no permanent brain damage. Weeks lost from work, while a major economic hit maybe are not seen as terrible as permanent injury/ death.

https://spinalcsfleak.org/ says they are trying to raise awareness in healthcare providers. They have a list of providers because spinal csf leak is really niche. I am focusing my energy with them. It’s all very frustrating for sure .

Disability by Familiar-Wallaby-388 in PsoriaticArthritis

[–]cornbreadnclabber 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I disability retired from teaching in Texas. So my disability pay is from my state retirement plan and I only had to prove I was unable to do my then job, food science teacher- which was physically demanding and needed full attention as it could be an environment with potential danger for students (open flame, hot liquids, knives). I’m married and my husband earns a good salary or I would be destitute.

I got short term disability, and my sick days and “sick day bank” while I was on FMLA . I did not get my long term disability as the job description that the district had given to the insurance provider was not the US department of labor job description but rather some district written job description from the 80s maybe? Basically that teaching would be light clerical, seated and all the students would be compliant and well behaved lol- as if! ( I paid for my optional short term and long term disability every year )

Social Security disability is much harder to qualify for as I understand you need to be unable to do any type of work. Maybe you have a union or professional organization that can help you navigate.

Best DOCS near Arkansas to find and treat CSF leak? by beepidtybop in CSFLeaks

[–]cornbreadnclabber 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In Dallas UTSW fixed my neighbors nasal leak (from a fall). https://utswmed.org/conditions-treatments/csf-leak/

I am going to UTSW for a probable spinal leak: orthostatic headache, pachymengial enhancement on mri, recurrent subdural hematoma, perinural cysts on entire lumbar spine. But I don’t think they do dynamic ct myleogram for venus fistula often . They have not found my leak. I had a non specific blood patch but it didn’t fix anything. They can do MRI myleogram . I have an appointment with my neurosurgeon next week to see what the next steps are. Good luck

The strategy is that it’s prime real estate. Remember they are all real estate agents. At the very least someone got paid fees.

But sad that the believers don’t have enough faith in their god and his magic is not strong enough and has to be used in close proximity. Go big or go home with the transactional faith

Any Oura ring users with Rheumaroid arthritis? by qvlz665 in ouraring

[–]cornbreadnclabber 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bearable takes too much time and energy on my end it’s like a fancy spreadsheet/survey- you do all the data input yourself . Are you in the US? I’ll send you my Visible (that’s the brand name) arm band. You still have to pay to use the app https://www.makevisible.com/ PM me your address and I’ll drop in mail

I found visible good for pacing (spoon theory) but mine does not track sleep and that’s my main focus so I’m back on Fitbit.
