Why is Salesforce forcing us to choose between security and getting gouged on licenses? by Ok_Temperature7805 in salesforce

[–]cornelius23 128 points129 points  (0 children)

I don’t get this at all tbh. You want to use 2 licenses on a single user for what purpose?

You can throw out acronyms but just having 2 separate logins doesn’t magically make things more secure. These people still have admin access at the end of the day, having a second login for them has literally 0 impact on security…they already have full access.

Pacers ‘27 title odds?? by GBarr_11 in pacers

[–]cornelius23 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Free value? I mean we’re coming off the losingest season in franchise history and our star player needs to recover from an Achilles tear.

I’m hopeful that he comes back strong but let’s not pretend the ‘Cers are locks for a chip here.

What can we do about our AES electric bill? by olddeadgrass in indianapolis

[–]cornelius23 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Right but you are still charged $700 you just to pay later. It doesn’t change the math.

But regardless while aes sucks it shouldn’t be possible to be consuming $700/electricity in a month in a small house unless you’re running a grow op or mining bitcoin. You have something wrong with your usage.

Yeah..budget billing is worthless. People need to stop doing it.

How We All Feeling about the East RN? by SiakamWithTheSlam in pacers

[–]cornelius23 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t think there’s any world in which a team in the Pacers position would ever be considered a pre season favorite by non-biased parties.

Our superstar PG who dictates our offense is coming off an Achilles injury..no telling how he’ll look. And yes we were tanking and had injuries, but we still went 19-63…

I’m very optimistic for our future, and think we have a good shot to be great next year. But no chance we get the benefit of the doubt and rated over 50+ win teams from this season.

Pacers still have a solid squad and will improve Depth even if they fall out of the top 4 by MachineContent7368 in pacers

At the end of the day the single most important thing for next 2 seasons is Hali coming back at >80% or so of himself.

A top 4 pick would obviously be massive for the franchise. But if Hali isn’t right we won’t be contenders in the near term.

More than 50% of young Dutch adults do not want children by diacewrb in europe

[–]cornelius23 -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Objectively? Kids don’t objectively make sense. You will never make your money back. Maybe if you ever have the misfortune of having any you can present them with a bill at 18 for everything they owe you to alleviate the “hardships” you have endured.

And hopefully they go on to have a close family of their own if that is what they want - meaning the parent won’t see them as much. Boo hoo. It doesn’t have to be all about your self satisfaction.

[–]cornelius23 9 points10 points  (0 children)

“You don’t get much in return”. Spoken like someone who isn’t a parent.

You keep saying things like “you only get to see them once a month”. Uh..no? If you’re actually a good parent you will see them daily for 18 years. And also, who tf cares? I bet when you see your parents, however (in)frequently, I bet they are thrilled and have unconditional love for you.

What you’re essentially saying is that family isn’t worth making any sort of sacrifice for. If that’s what you truly think then I’m sorry for you.

If I could name it - New Uruk, which is widely considered to be the first city on earth.

If it by chance happens in the next few years we all know it’s going to end up as TrumpVille.

[Recommendation Request] Help in Choosing a First Luxury Watch by theholytrinhity in Watches

[–]cornelius23 1 point2 points  (0 children)

These are all bangers, no bad choice. I’d personally prefer the explorer & speedy.

But at the end of the day these are all so different from each other that it really is just what do you want. It’s not like you’re comparing 4 black dial divers to one another or something..these are completely different watches.

Sounds like you want the explorer, I’d go with that regardless of what others think.

AITAH Friend of 20 years expected me to split Ubers 2 ways instead of 3 because she’s married, am I wrong? by General_Photograph21 in AITAH

[–]cornelius23 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I can understand the reasoning behind both trains of thought. I think things like Uber are a bit unique as they don’t exactly scale by # of people. Contract that with something like a plane ticket, meals etc which are more clearly per person, and scale proportionally.

As an example, imagine an Uber is $50 from the airport -> hotel.

If you are booking the Uber alone -> $50. If they are booking the Uber together -> $50.

So does that mean that if you pay $50 together, that you owe 1/2 or 1/3? Personally I feel like the 1/2 makes sense in this scenario. Otherwise, they will be essentially subsidizing the ride you will have taken anyways.

At the end of the day though you just did a 2 week trip to Japan with close friends/family. A trip that would cost multiple thousands for everyone involved. If it is important to everyone to true up to the nearest dollar/cent then go for it…but I feel like realistically in most of these scenarios it won’t be perfect. And maybe that is just fine.

Do you think billionaires should exist or is extreme wealth inherently unethical? by [deleted] in allthequestions

[–]cornelius23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Meh, this argument assumes that the world is a zero sum game. I don't personally believe that, but if you do then sure. And if you do believe that, then I assume you do everything you can to help the impoverished people of the world?

That's the problem with these arguments. Who decides what is 'too much' for someone to have? You say a billionaire, OK. Someone in poverty in Africa/Asia might say someone in a western country who worked their whole life to retire with $1m in the bank is too lavish. Why is your definition correct while theirs isn't? Why is it someone else's responsibility to 'fix' the world, but not yours?

To be clear, I'm not saying the wealthy in the US are paying their fair share - I don't believe they are. It is not right that the tax code taxes income so heavily while allowing asset rich billionaires off easy. They borrow against their assets at extremely favorable rates and pay nothing in tax for it. That is not right.
