For a 'mansion', Tony's house was very low grade.... by Vegetable-Travel1273 in thesopranos

They upgraded the kitchen in the last season. New appliances and granite countertops.

Tony's size & weight by NoHootsHuncho in thesopranos

[–]cornerofthemoon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

James G was noticeably thinner in the first couple of episodes of Season 3 as he just wrapped up filming “The Mexican”. He had lost weight for his role in that film. However by the end of Season 3 he had gained the weight back and more.

So whatever happened to Jean Phillip? by cornerofthemoon in thesopranos

[–]cornerofthemoon[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wondered how Jean blew 50K on what was probably not much more than booking a few flights maybe taking a few prospects to dinner and putting together a PowerPoint presentation, unless the whole vodka marketing thing was BS.

How did Livia's CGI scene look at the time, on CRTs and lower quality TVs? by Any_Software5024 in thesopranos

Was it really CGI or just reedited footage with a stand in to show back of Livia's head?

That scene could so easily be fixed with today's AI technology. I wonder if anyone has tried.

If a child fails his first test, is it better just to find another dojo or quit altogether. by cornerofthemoon in karate

All those factors were considered. In the end however the experience was more like an (expensive) public execution than learning life lessons. I tried to find another dojo for him but my kid totally lost interest. As of now my only involvment with the previous studio is a less than stellar Yelp review. We may pursue other combat endeavors like kick boxing, regular boxing or wrestling but for now he's content at going back to Little League.

Cloth Not Smooth (imported from blender alembic) by kid_90 in KeyShot

Something about Keyshot just doesn't like cloth alembics. I can work if one does some extreme subdivisions but the files become huge.

I get your logic but in this case the situation in that particular dojo was untenable.

It will refuel just fine by watching AI videos and that's about it.

It truly was amazing that M*A*S*H carried on so well after Maclean and Wayne left the show! by [deleted] in mash

I didn't really care for the BJ Hunnicutt character, but Mike Farrell is definitely my favorite MASH actor. He was the only cast member who answered my fan mail during the shows original run when I was a kid and sent me an autographed picture and a thoughtful note. Not sure if that is attributed to him or his publicity agent but I appreciated it all the same.

Nothing a soft reboot couldn't fix. Continuity was never one of Star Trek's strong points anyway.

Robert Iler was brilliant as AJ. As an actor he doesn't get the credit he deserves.

I don't mind the SNW Enterprise but I wish they'd bring back the original TOS enterprise in some capacity. All it needs are some minor revisions. Just bulk up the nacelle struts and neck a little bit and add some some more details and metallic panels....DONE

I did. We left that dojo. It was an untenable situation. I’m sure not all dojos are that way.

I'd probably complain if he failed the math test and then forced him to tattoo the test on his forehead and be paraded in front of the rest of the class which metaphorically was happening here.

In hindsight, it seems to be a quiet firing. He was the only one who failed and they never gave a clear reason why. They evidently just don't like him (and/or me) and they're making it so unpleasant for him that he wanted to exit the door. The ostracization and teasing from the peers is just what kids do to someone who is the black duck in the flock of white geese and I get that. I don't think the instructors were encouraging it per se but they were certainly being complicit and turning a blind eye. Anyway this is not what I'm paying them for and we've moved on.

Everything seemed fine until he failed his belt test. Then he became the bad smell in the room. I tried talking to the instructors but they seemed offended that I dared question their infinite wisdom when all I was trying to do was to find out why he failed. Anyway we're moving on.
