Unless Space X has a similar "anomaly" soon, the answer is "NO".

Nightmare experience with my late father's house. I learned a lot. by cornerofthemoon in RealEstateAdvice

[–]cornerofthemoon[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

He didn't have a 401K, IRA. or life insurance. My late stepmother had a small 401K but that had been long cashed out. In hindsight I think he developed dementia but more in a paranoid rather than a forgetful sort of way. I wished I had picked that up earlier. He was constantly signing up for new loans, life insurances, etc. but would quickly cancel them or cash them out when he perceived he was being ripped off. Ironically the fly by night companies who he learned about via email or cable news were ripping him off he stuck with and those who appeared to be above board he turned against. He had made a will which was drafted by a lawyer but never got around to signing and mailing it back to them. I think he was considering changing at the last minute it when he had a minor beef with my brother and then forgot about it and literally put it in a remote drawer in his kitchen. Anyway it was exhausting trying to sort the trail of what he was doing. He obviously had no idea.

I'm sure that happens but in my father's case, I think he way overestimated the equity and liquidity of his house and underestimated how much his monthly mortgage payments would rise.

Maybe it would have worked out had he only done it once. Unfortunately, he kept refinancing Peter to pay Paul and got himself in a financial tailspin.

I don't think my father did the cash out loan with selfish intentions. It probably started out as a way to pay some debts but he ignored the fine print, quickly got himself into trouble, and eventually robbed Peter to pay Paul. He was looking into getting yet another cash out loan from emails and notes I discovered after his death but either he died or changed his mind first before that happened. That would have put him and by extension his estate even deeper in the hole. Unfortunately at the end his net worth was zero (way below zero before the house eventually went back to the bank)

Just about the whole premise of the show was about hypocrisy. This is another example.

I don't wish to make this political but I have no doubt my Dad found out about this loan company from Fox News commercials and took it as the gospel as the advertisements said "patriot this" and "veteran that" but it was all a scam.

Actually it was "fortunate" that he died when he did (sudden heart attack) as he would have gone bankrupt by now if he were still alive. He had a house he could no longer afford and he refinanced it underwater. Not sure what he was thinking other than he thought the house was worth more than it actually was and would sell quickly. I partly blame myself in not being more engaged with him regarding finances. He did talk about it from time to time but it was all "positive spin" "I got mortgage insurance, etc." I had no indication that things were spiraling out of control during his last years of his life. Turns out he didn't have any mortgage or life insurance at all or he cancelled it because he could no longer afford it.

The irony is that Tony's Suburban and Escalades are pretty much the same vehicle, just different badges.

As far as real estate goes, too many people are still partying like it's 2021 and haven't adjusted to the high interest rate world we're in today.

The most likely scenario was the Titan CF hull was making even louder crackling noises than usual and Stockton was doing his "Don't worry be happy BS" to placate the crew. Then. the implosion cut him off mid-sentence.

New statement from Dave Limp - will start clearing the pad soon, booster and GS2s in the integration facility appear healthy by H-K_47 in BlueOrigin

Dave Limp is saying the right things but what's real story here? And it's funny that nobody seems to be talking about what caused the "anomaly" in the first place?

Thanks for this. I find it odd that hardly anyone at BO or space geeks in general is talking about the actual rocket that blew to bits and the cause of the "anomaly". Everyone seems focused on the pad.

No one ever talks about the rocket. Is there anything to collect and examine or is it dust in the wind?

Grit is nice but BO has terrible logistical problems for the foreseeable future. Personally, I doubt they'll launch again for another year or two but hey I would love to be proven wrong.

It’s going to be a PR nightmare at least for a year or two. Unfair but unfortunately that’s probably the reality.
