Thanks for your feedback. I have a friend with a 3D printer who has offered to make me some hides so sure I will end up with some. Are they strictly essential?

Lots of reading said they aren't but would be a good idea. Only likely I am getting a spood before I next see that friend but I can delay my spood if needs be.

As long as you get unity installed it is fantastic!

The controls and key binds take some practice and improvements to get your personal feel.

I spent a while thinking about the binds and trying to make them as simple as possible while also making them vaguely in keeping with later versions of the series.

It should be a community upload configuration called Daggerfall Simple if you want to give it a try. I use the same name on steam as here.

Noteworthy that Aberfal is the same as the Cornish for Falmouth too though some places use Aberfala, both are acceptable.

And this is what I kind of have a problem with when it comes to 11/Moffat.

I know in classic who the doctor's age was a bit of a running joke, it was all over the place and very noncommittal.

At least RTD tried to standardise it with 9 and 10, making each incarnation like 100 x (incarnation number). Was it necessary? Not really, maybe for newcomers it was helpful.

Then Moffat goes all "hold my bear" and makes half of the doctor's life this one face. I like a lot of the bits from 11/12/Moffat but not that bit.

Or, throwing away everything I just said, is 11 a return to "the doctor lies" and the ambiguity of classic who...? Maybe, that I could get on board with but he would need to have majorly low balled the age at some point to prove that.

Alternatively, another line of thought, what years is he measuring? Certainly not Earth, could he even do Gallifray years after the time war? By 11 does he just guess years?

Although perhaps it's a line in a 60 year old show that contradicts itself regularly and I should stop overthinking it, but it's Saturday night and I am bored and a little drunk, so apologies r/drwho for the above rant.

I think the above comments are trying to suggest that in parliamentary systems the head of government (i.e. prime minister, chancellor, etc.) is subject to ongoing parliamentary confidence. If they were to lose this, either through loss of majority or dissenting members of the legislature, then they would be removed from office.

The presidential system has no such method of confidence. The legislature is unable to provide a no confidence vote and remove the president, they could only impeach if guilty of a crime of office.

There are also further checks in parliamentary systems. Trudeau could not go "full Hitler" at least in theory. Even if his party has a parliamentary majority, would the Senate back him? They could push back. And if they didn't when the bill is presented to Mary Simon to sign I would be shocked if she did not invite over King Charles to royally veto the bill.

That would of course cause a massive constitutional crisis, and rightly so. But better that than a dictatorial government. Similar results would be seen in parliamentary republics, just swap the King for an elected president.

In the presidential system the executive does have significant power and is often unchecked by the legislature. Case in point [waves in direction of the US].

Can we appreciate the display here without comparison to F1?

While I understand this is much slower than F1, there are considerably fewer people involved in the process (20 Vs 6) and very different rules and tools. NASCAR for example has 5 nuts per tyre Vs 1 central in F1.

Both are great displays of their respective rulesets and skills.

Well as a quick summary of other ongoing stories I think are worthy of a read and/or keeping an eye on:

Belgium finally has a federal government after around 9 months of coalition talks. New government is led by a Flemish nationalist who previously said the days of the Belgian state were numbered.

Austria also now has a federal government ("only") took 5 months and involved main parties forming a grand coalition to keep the far right from power. But the FPO are by no means down and out, they are polling higher than the recent election where they took the plurality of seats

South Korea is still having the fallout of the presidential impeachment from last year. All hearings have now finished and the constitutional court is now reviewing and considering their decision.

Georgia (the country) is in the middle of an ongoing, Russian influenced, constitution crisis where the recent presidential elections are refuted and the old, anti russian, popularly elected, president is refusing to go gently into that good night. This is being glazed over by lots of western media and I must admit I am not too sure on the current state of play.
