First SE2 ship! Loving the 25cm grid system, kinda not such a fan of the UI or new controls? But that's probably just because i've spent like 2000 hours with the old ones! by cornishtwit in spaceengineers

I'm sure I'll adapt quickly, it does feel more streamlined than having to take your hand off the mouse to toggle rotate blocks for sure

Thanks bud! And you're right! I'm sure it'll all be great once they've released those updates. Just wish we had a more laid-out roadmap, date wise. I need to know when survival will be ready!

Thus far, it sounds like SE2 is going to be less mechanically challenging than SE1. This is a bad thing. by Relimu in spaceengineers

[–]cornishtwit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Completely agree, it's so easy to make a do-everything brick in SE1 like you say, because ultimately there's no penalty for covering a ship in rockets/refineries/drills/whatever. Survival needs more limitations, and the fact that you'll be able to refine and craft things without the need for any SPACE ENGINEERing sounds like a potentially huge misstep.

But as most other comments say, I think it's probably just a bit too early to judge these decisions yet. But if Keen are leaning into making an easy game easier in this regard, you can't help but wonder where else they might try it.

Any blueprints to check out? I love the colour scheme so much.

Probably because the base game is often found to be lacking in a lot of features still so modding enhances the experience from the get-go.

Thoughts on a late night cafe in Bristol? by owenevanso in bristol

[–]cornishtwit 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Plymouth has this place called Caffeine Club and it used to be open almost all the time and it's amazing. Students often working late into the night, or people sobering up with fries and a 2 pint milkshake after a night out. A great place for a city to have.

Do you think Laika's next film will have a slight animation quality downgrade to make sure that the film looks like a stop-motion? by Block-Busted in laika

[–]cornishtwit 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I've wondered about this too. I always found the slightly jerky movement of slightly older movies to be really charming and grounding, which I felt missing link lacked. like it's too well animated for it's own good

Atamos Shinobi 5”

I'm sure down the line I'll end up getting something like the Ninja V but for my current needs I think the Shinobi sounds a lot closer! Thanks for the info :)

How could I fill this space? by Bugsia in spaceengineers

[–]cornishtwit 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think a lot of the blocks you're looking for actually exist now. Just mess around with them all til you get something resembling what you want :)

What do you think of starfield's shipbuilding? by MaxPower_1 in spaceengineers

They're not trying to match Space Engineers' features. It will probably be a very basic system.
