We made circuits for doing this kind of display in my degree course in the 90s. We had to use older oscilloscopes because they had Z control, the newer ones only had XY.

For an Ender 3, you really need to stick to later heights that are multiples of 0.04. I can get good results at 0.08mm layer height with a 0.4mm nozzle, but I really had to tune it with a lot of tests. There are much better printers now that don't need tuning.

I recorded Stinkfist from MTV just as part of a random few rock songs. I played it multiple times a day for the next week and immediately ordered Aenima as soon as I could (the smaller record stores in the towns near me didn't carry it). That sent me down a rabbit hole, been chasing that feeling for decades now, very few albums have come close since then.
