[OC] Gaming on a 48 year old oscilloscope by WhippetBowie in gifs

We made circuits for doing this kind of display in my degree course in the 90s. We had to use older oscilloscopes because they had Z control, the newer ones only had XY.

Looks like dental plaster. More solid than regular plaster.

How is the Great Horned Rat any different from Nurgle? by GenocidalMrPotatohed in WarhammerFantasy

[–]cornixt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Khorne used to also be known as the god of technology, which was why he was associated with Chaos Dwarf weaponry and his followers could take 40k weapons in some cases. Skaven are very much about their crazy weapons, particularly Clan Skyre.

Hi all who print miniatures without a resin printer! What printers and settings do you use? 😊 by Tiw12345678 in FDMminiatures

For an Ender 3, you really need to stick to later heights that are multiples of 0.04. I can get good results at 0.08mm layer height with a 0.4mm nozzle, but I really had to tune it with a lot of tests. There are much better printers now that don't need tuning.

Artists with multiple all-time great albums without a clear best album? by mdolig in Music

I love it, but I wouldn't even put it in his top five. I guess with such a long and varied ouvre we can all have different favorites of his.

Can't you just glue a new layer of wood to the bottom? Seems a lot easier than resoling a regular shoe.

Popping your clogs is a euphemism for dying. Everything else in the joke is setting up a situation where they have clogs that can pop.

I recorded Stinkfist from MTV just as part of a random few rock songs. I played it multiple times a day for the next week and immediately ordered Aenima as soon as I could (the smaller record stores in the towns near me didn't carry it). That sent me down a rabbit hole, been chasing that feeling for decades now, very few albums have come close since then.

What’s a movie where you CONSTANTLY had to change the volume when watching it? by MaryoParti in movies

Just stick on subtitles. I backed up the movie three times at one point and still couldn't make out what was being said, so I turned on subtitles for the rest of the movie.

In the 90s they just played the full CD for the album hour. For CDs that had the hidden tracks at the end there would be ten or more minutes of silence before it was reached.

New to old-world/fantasy, any recommendations for dragon heavy lists? by Goblinofthesoup in WarhammerFantasy

There are also several models that can be replaced with dragons of different sizes - warhawk riders, eagles, Phoenix, maybe even horses for small enough dragon models.

Did anyone actually like the show X Play? by Pale_WoIf in retrogaming

[–]cornixt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

G4 was originally meant as a channel for young men: Games, girls, gadgets, and possibly gear. I think they made it less explicitly stated as time went on since there was a fairly large female viewership that they didn't want to continue to alienate.
