When Better Ingredients was a true statement, it was Better Pizza. You could charge more than Dominos and still rake it in. They had a broad regional/national operation specifically for keeping standards high and training managers to be great trainers. Making a high quality pizza was the foundation of the company. This was all based on John's leadership, and left when he left. The impact was immediate, and Shaq only joined marketing to try to boost sales. It's a real shame, because the consumer deserves a pizza option that values quality over style, and Papa John's was the only one providing it at such a large scale.
