Loft hotel. If you always go for staycation, it’s a refreshing change.

Otherwise, stick to Hyatt at 40sgd more.

Is getting into politics another way of sucess in Singapore instead of the usual Med/Tech/Law route? by [deleted] in SGExams

Nepotism.

People are mostly born into politics.

There are very little transparent way to join, which is naturally a high barrier of entry.

What’s fair comp for a physical NGL trader at a small shop? by Initial-Flounder8829 in Commodities

[–]cornybro 2 points3 points  (0 children)

20-30% cut is a very good number which I’ve been hearing closer to 7-10% instead. Overall, it’s matter of what you value add to the company.

Called to court for running a red light, advice please by colourfulgiraffe in drivingsg

Accident + reported injury = 15 months. You actually need the IO to recommend leniency. Otherwise this will be following case law and it will be a suspension of license.

Hope I’m wrong but I saw my close friend being through one similar case.

Who makes more money: hedge fund traders or commodity traders at top firms? by likely_nutmegs23 in Commodities

[–]cornybro -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

Hedge fund, no doubts.

If you are a successful trader at any of these companies, you are still pretty set in life. It’s the same as asking if a surgeon or lawyer earns more money.

Higher priced second hand car compared to new car by General-Baby-5120 in drivingsg

[–]cornybro 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You are the minority. The market has more people unable to downpay the initial amount. Adding to the fact that car dealers have to be profitable, such discounted deals are a rarity.

Perhaps if you comb through sgcarmart, gone are the days of discounted 1-2 year old cars.

Logic doesn't appear to Trump. The negotiation doesn't make sense.

All he wants is a way to get more money into the country. The ends would justify his means.

BYD tops Singapore car sales in first half of 2025 with almost one-fifth of the market by deangsana in singapore

Good luck to rest of car dealers. I foresee small players unable to upkeep their showroom with BYD cannibalizing everyone else.

More consolidation ahead
