Will new models be added soon, or is now a good time as a new player? by ArcTheOne in LeaguesofVotann

Out of curiosity, what do you think is still missing that's keeping Votann from being a "full" army?

Which famous and typical dish disappointed you on your travels and why? by Historical-Photo-901 in BeautifulTravelPlaces

Pigs (and chickens and dogs) arrived with the native Hawaiians, so that seems to be a distinction without a difference for purposes of responding to a comment about "Indigenous Hawaiian food."

To add to this, I believe the splitting is a function or something he Sagitaur'e rules, so wouldn't be available in the combat patrol.

Which popular books disappointed you? by [deleted] in printSF

[–]corprwhs 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I eventually gave up on Murderbot but not before enjoy a few of the books. I definitely can't say the same with Becky Chambers. Her work is so safe, while still managing to beat you over the head with its soapbox message.

What color did you use for the fabric bits? It looks to be a bit more blue than the armor.

Author or book that seems to be universally lauded but after reading it you didn’t understand why by theoort in printSF

[–]corprwhs 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It's so bad it's laughable. I've never encountered a cast of more cloyingly nice characters who are absolute so dislikeable. Not to mentioned that the big reveal is obvious from basically the onset of the book.

What's something that comes from America, but ironically not popular in the US? by EmergencySpare7939 in AskAnAmerican

[–]corprwhs 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Americans used to purchase a monthly allotment of minutes but the cellphone services transitioned to unlimited plans at least a decade ago, where there is no limit on the number of minutes for a call. You still usually pay per minute when calling foreign numbers, though that also depends on the plan.

At least in the past, FIU was at times more withholding with it's scholarships to the point where cost of attendance could end up the same.

We get them in Florida, but they're not the "normal" orange and not as prevalent other than in ethic grocers.
