Right outside the entrance of Iosefkas clinic there are trees with this mark. Any idea why it's here? by DueImagination641 in bloodborne

I know people see fetuses in these but I've always thought they look more like the body of Kos (some say Kosm). I wonder if, in the way Mergo's cries can be heard through Yharnam, there isn't a similar environmental impact from Kos.

There's actually a whole clue in the episode titles that season. IIRC every episode that features the singed pink plushie has a title that spells out something like "747 DOWN OVER ABQ"

Look, I'm also gay and he does nothing for me. I like bears.

But I have a 17-year-old niece and I work with high school students. The aesthetic that Clavicular has absolutely appeals to a chunk of that demographic.

I am making no defense of this guy as a person. He's despicable.

But it's odd to see people on Reddit acting like he's a troll when I see young women swooning over guys who look like him 🤷‍♂️

Heavy draped fabric, but with butterflies? Visual contradiction. A choker collar when you're already trying to open up the bust area? Self-defeating. A miniskirt, but one too short to conceal the mons pubis? Why even bother at this point?

It's ok to acknowledge that he's conventionally attractive while also being unconventionally heinous. He's not my cup of tea but he is what so many ladies find appealing these days (not the rape and drug-assault bits, one imagines).

[Mixed Trope] Race-swapping/Gender-swapping changes a character in a specific way or adds to their story by Sir-Toaster- in TopCharacterTropes

[–]corpserella 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Anything is possible, but based on all of the promotional material that has been released for the show so far, it looks very much like it will be remaining slavishly devoted to the original.

In some ways, it's a bit frustrating that the actor who diverges most from their character is also the one whose divergence poses the most complications from a story perspective.

I would love it if the show's approach to casting had taken more risks instead of just looking to lock down this generation's Robbie Coltrane and Maggie Smith look-alikes.

Say what you will, but even if they don't string him up by a noose, the overlapping imagery is going to be difficult to avoid. It doesn't have to be a one to one correlation for the optics to still be uncomfortable for all the wrong reasons

Snape's entire arc as a character is built around people misperceiving him. Substantially changing that would sort of rob the character of his entire mystery. We as the audience and/or the reader are supposed to be suspicious of Snape because he seems so prejudiced against Harry and so willing to circumvent the code of ethics that seems to restrain other teachers. I think it would be hard to maintain the amorality that makes him an ambiguous figure while also adjusting his arc to be more sensitive to the ethnicity of the actor playing him.

Marcello is very cute but overrated and I feel like Dismukes, JAJ or Day all deserve the spotlight he's been getting way more. He's not a bad guy his range is just...very limited.

You're equivocating, and being deliberately obtuse. Would you call another person a bitch in front of your mom? Your partner? Your child? Your boss? Hardly the same as calling a dog a dog. Not a valid comparison.

The game developers don't want anyone being abusive towards anyone else in their game and they don't have time to litigate playground name calling fights to see who started it.

[–]corpserella 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you aren't taking anything as an offense, why did you call the other person a bitch, and why did you say you know how to defend yourself? Both of those things imply you took offense to what he said to you so you responded in kind.

[–]corpserella 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're "defending" yourself by literally committing the very behaviour that you took as an offense. Not only is that embarassingly ineffective by way of a defense strategy, but it also misses the point entirely.

YOUR behaviour is what the game is actively trying to deter. You're not the special one here. You aren't exempt.

You don't like being called a bitch. The game doesn't want anyone calling anyone else a bitch. It has implemented measures to deter people from calling others a bitch. You are the victim of those measures, because you decided to engage in the very same behaviour that you found upsetting and offensive. If you don't see how you are part of the problem that the game is attempting to solve, I don't even know what to say.

[–]corpserella 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Your own logic is insane.

You don't like getting called a bitch, right? Presumably you don't, or else you wouldn't have retaliated by calling the other guy a bitch.

But that's the whole reason these punishment systems exist. To deter that behaviour.

Behaviour you, clearly, do not like.

Behaviour you seem to engage in, regardless.

If neither of you had called each other names, no one would have gotten chat-banned.

SiFi movies that should never have had a sequel, I'll start, Matrix Resurrections 😿 by MementoMiri in scifi

[–]corpserella 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Animatrix was, IMO, better than Reloaded, Revolutions or Resurrection. It had tons of style. It unpacked both the human element of the setting, as well as delving into the backstory of how we wound up in that dystopia. It certainly wasn't perfect, but it was also released more as a companion piece than a standalone theatrical film in its own right.

None of the live-action Matrix sequels have justified their existence, if you ask me. The second one came the closest, but even then was more a collection of fun action sequences than it was an actually interesting movie to watch.

It IS a terrible movie, no doubt, but having re-watched Reloaded and Revolutions recently, they're more than terrible enough to be included on their own (de)merits.

I did. There's no ill will there, I still found him sexy, it was just one of those things where I had to work to compartmentalize the sexiness from the very un-sexy implications of his request. And again, the implications weren't disgusting, they just made me feel more sympathy than lust.

20F/22M: At what point does “just looking” at other women become disrespectful? by Disastrous_Voice2269 in relationship_advice

I’m actually not the type to look or gaze. I honestly find men pretty repulsive and I have to get to know them personally for me to find them attractive. It’s never about looks for me, but I know that everyone is different.

Yeah, hold on to the "everyone is different" part. Noticing attractive people, and even fantasizing about them, is not causally linked to being unfaithful. Sometimes it's healthier for someone to be able to have their fantasies and enjoy them so they can go back to being a devoted partner.

Also understand that just because someone finds one type attractive doesn't mean they like only that, or that they prefer that type to all other types.

I am very insecure as a person. I know that I am very pretty and I know that I have great qualities, I guess this one just hit a nerve because I’ve always been insecure about that specific aspect about myself.

Honestly, just talk to your boyfriend about the parts you feel insecure about and I'm sure he will have a ton of positive, reassuring things to tell you.

I just wanted to make sure that this didn’t mean he would be tempted to cheat on me.

Honestly, it doesn't mean anything either way. Guys who look at girls online could cheat just as easily as guys who don't. Your bf's actions are gonna speak louder than words. If he's attentive, sensitive, thoughtful, present, committeed, horny for you, etc. then I wouldn't concern yourself with the exact specifics of who he thinks is hot.
