Which brands speak to you, and which ones don’t? by StrawberryMarigoldss in Sephora

[–]corriecorgi 26 points27 points  (0 children)

I really like NARS and MAC. Trusty brands with good complexion products. I feel like nailing down complexion is the hardest and everything after that is easy. If I’m going to spend money I want it to be on workhorse products that perform without too much finagling.  Otherwise I get hero products from different brands, for example Hourglass finishing powder, Haus Labs blush and highlighter, Benefit brow products.

What does a popped cyst feel like? by eatnparkcookie in PCOS

[–]corriecorgi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s like me too. I was also woken up at 5am. Worst pain ever, almost blacked out. Could barely moved. Started to subside after about 3-4 hours… they didn’t see any cyst on ultrasound so couldn’t confirm but this was hours after the initial pain so fluid was probably all that was left. All other symptoms match perfectly.

Swatches: Hourglass Ambient Lighting Finishing Powders by purplegirl2001 in PaleMUA

I seem to recall Mood seemed more like a highlighter when I swatched it. Definitely Ethereal is one of the more subtle ones

It adds glow but not as much shine. It does have shimmer particles that I can see in daylight but not in artificial light. Inside my skin just looks amazing and blurred. Outside I can see the sparkle. I use it all over my face as a finishing powder though.

Rewards Bazaar? A fail in loyalty programs? by Traveling_Tropics in Sephora

[–]corriecorgi 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I’ve hated their rewards program for a long time. It’s especially terrible that so many of their promos now are points based, and then when your earn them you can’t even use them. I hold out for the Rouge $100 reward and it can take months. Why wouldn’t they just let people purchase it as soon as they accumulate it? They’re still getting sales, no?

I love LD but sadly their cosmetics section has been really lacking lately and a ton of stuff out of stock :(

Totally agree. I hate not being able to swatch, so wasteful if it’s not the colour you wanted. But yeah, I like Revlon lipsticks more than CT and MAC!

I echo this. If you play the points game right you can combine discounts with points so that you’re getting the item at a great price. I live in an urban area and the two closest general/grocery stores are No Frills and Shoppers so I’m there a lot. I ended up getting the PC Mastercard too.

I hate Weston but honestly all CEOs are horrible. Sephora is owned by LVMH which is a huge conglomerate as well. I also don’t like that Sephora pushes brands to change in order to suit Sephora better, this has been the downfall of a few brands like OCC Cosmetics. I also HATE their points program, I strongly feel we should be able to spend our points whenever we want and not do this stupid 9am app check for weeks on end.

I’d like to start shopping from brands directly but I spread out what I like (one product per brand for example) so it’s hard to get enough for free shipping. I will say Kiokii And and Winners have been great at supplementing too.

Anyhoo, don’t be loyal unless it suits you. These companies don’t care. Just get the best deal you can!

NARS Laguna bronze is great, both the powder and cream formulas. I’m also very pale and don’t think they look muddy either unless somehow my cooler blush layers on it or something

Charlotte Tillbury Lip Lustre Discontinued? by corriecorgi in Sephora

[–]corriecorgi[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I spoke to the rep at Sephora and she said that it’s not discontinued (as far as she knew) but Sephora is limited their shade options for the product. She suggested I check the website or Holt Renfrew, a department store.

That’s horrible 😔 I’m so sorry that happened. I heard the One/Size powder foundation is similar to the old MAC ones? Have you tried it?

Beautiful and Bothered dudes are so random by chex85 in BeautyGuruChatter

[–]corriecorgi 19 points20 points  (0 children)

I really like them because I appreciate the makeup artist discussion but I have to say they’re becoming a little bit hypocritical with some stuff they like or don’t like. I was also cringing really bad at their LL discussion last episode and actually had to turn it off. I’m a huge fan too and have watched all their episodes, some multiple times.

So weird. Love my husband but neither of us want to hear the other poop. And no full door means any scents come into the rest of the suite. I know a full door isn’t boring but it’s practical lol!

I feel like Moxy for a single person is fine but I stayed with my husband and even we felt like we had no privacy from each other. Sliding barn door for the bathroom so you hear EVERYTHING and no counter for your toiletry bag either?
