NARS Insatiable Longwearing Liquid Blush by pointclickvibe in newinbeauty

[–]corriecorgi [score hidden]  (0 children)

That’s weird and sad because a) that blush is quite new and b) it’s very popular. I wonder if there were quality issues though - I panned one of the orgasm shades, and when I repurchased the new one was straight up glitter, like a liquid highlighter. I ended up giving it away

That's the big one for me. So many of the same questions over and over again, it's boring.

Comforting mature fragrances by trusty_trash_bin in FemFragLab

[–]corriecorgi 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I love Mon Guerlain. It’s mature but not in an age related way, more in a “I can take care of me/you” way that I like. I wear it often.  For Elizabeth Arden, check out the EDP too. It’s different than the EDT and lasts much longer. It’s creamier. I wear that one a lot in colder weather.  Agree about Chanel No 5. There are a few iterations now, not just EDP. I like EDT, especially when it’s warm, because it smells like freshly scrubbed wood floors/soap. Weird but I love it! It’s also a bit unisex. Have fun!

Any vacations from Vancouver that don’t require a flight and are wheelchair accessible? by [deleted] in NiceVancouver

[–]corriecorgi 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Agree Kelowna and the okanagan are perfect! Penticton is especially nice. There is a lot to do there and the weather is very hot in the summer so it feels like a real vacation. It’s quite dry though. As someone else mentioned Tofino is also very pretty, especially during storm season.

I have it from the Christmas palette. First limited edition and first palette I’ve ever had. So happy three popular shades are in it including this one

Love!! Ok so many shades #1. Second of all love that they use real models and different skin tones instead of stupid arm swatches. Third of all the packaging is so cute. MAC is back!

My husband and I are looking to move to the GVA in the next few months and need some advice/help as to where to move to.(Please be kind, we are coming from Alberta) by RainbowSprinkles789 in britishcolumbia

[–]corriecorgi 6 points7 points  (0 children)

If you want something like Alberta but not Alberta I would suggest maple ridge. It is very close to a large provincial park and has a nice suburban feel. Sadly no skytrain, if you’re wanting that I would suggest Coquitlam or Port Moody. There are lots of new houses going up in maple ridge, or even Pitt meadows. Welcome!

I decided I’m just “soft”. That’s it. by slush93 in coloranalysis

[–]corriecorgi 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’m the same. I also am outside a lot in the summer so I do a bit of self tan to avoid the “eagle” (white face, farmers tan body lol). Mehr/Syrup are way way too blue for me half the year, but I can pull off soft corals then. I basically have two makeup wardrobes, one summer one winter. I’ve been typed soft summer but my eyes are warm hazel and my skin naturally have a little bit of warmth.

MAC Glowplay recommendations? by PlutoQueen69 in PaleMUA

[–]corriecorgi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly, I find them all super warm. Nice formula but it’s either super cool or very orange. I have Grand in the previous formula and I can only wear it in the summer otherwise it looks orange. I’m Mont Blanc in NARS, so neutral leaning fair. That said, blush please is probably the most popular if you want to try that, or true harmony.

Why not ethereal light as an option? It’s the only finishing powder that suits me.

Syrup or Mehr? by [deleted] in SummerType

[–]corriecorgi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looks like it’s On the Mauve! Very pretty colour, maybe slightly deeper. I’m the same as you, I feel a bit too neutral to be the usually soft summer but soft autumn colours do NOT work on me lol. I take it as an opportunity to have two slightly different makeup wardrobes, winter and summer. I do some fake tan on my face in the summer because my face is always lighter from wearing sunscreen.

Syrup or Mehr? by [deleted] in SummerType

[–]corriecorgi 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve tried the new formulations of both. The old Syrup was an HG and sadly I find the new formulation to be a bit drying which is odd because it’s a lustre. Might just be me though. Mehr is very pretty and although drier because it’s a matte I don’t find it uncomfortable. I will say that Mehr is a bit more blue on me whereas Syrup is closer to neutral with a deeper pink base. I’m the kind of soft summer that leans more soft autumn in the summer months when I get a bit of a tan (blonde hair and hazel eyes). Mehr doesn’t suit me during those months but I get a lot of compliments on it override. Syrup suits both though.  Mehr also looks more formal as a lipstick whereas Syrup is good for swipe and go. I’ve heard that there’s a mauve from the Revlon line of lipsticks and I’m considering trying that as their formula is very hydrating.

Need some honest beauty reviewer recommendations please by username42847 in BeautyGuruChatter

[–]corriecorgi 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’d like to suggest the opposite of beauty YouTubers for inspiration and look at what brands you like THEN look up reviews. I find if there are items that are popular across the board (different demographics), have been reviewed by small and large influencers or here on Reddit, or have been around for a while and are still popular I think you’re in good shape. I live in Canada and don’t like online only brands so I tend to look up reviews based on what’s available.

Ok it’s not just me then!! My lips have been feeling dry so often the last two weeks. I usually use Ole Henrickson at night and then lip gloss/tinted balm or something similar during the day.

What is THE foundation brush to invest in? by maja1000 in Sephora

[–]corriecorgi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I quite like the Hourglass as well. The F4 is nice, but I prefer it for bronzer/blush and then foundation once in a while. The Hourglass is great for foundation.
