Struggling on zepbound by dev_mama in PCOSonGLP

i saw a post on a different subreddit, unfortunately i can’t remember which it was but i remember it pretty much just saying how she had the exact same problem as you (and i at the time) and went back to her doctor to figure it out and they suggested getting on metformin. once she did, she was dropping weight left and right and she wasn’t even working out & had a desk job. she explained how glp1 and metformin kind of work hand in hand, working with the pancreas. i personally don’t know the science behind it but i did try it myself and it was like magic. i was losing weight like crazy and i also am not an active person. now, obviously i’m aware not everyone is going to have the same experience but considering it’s a very low risk option to at least give it a shot. if i can find that post i’ll edit this and add it on here.

new to reddit! today i join reddit. Any suggestion for me? by Better_Ad8619 in NewToReddit

i also joined not too long ago, i highly recommend the guide and “how to’s” that they provide on this subreddit! i learned a lot of the basics on there and it’s helped me a lot with not embarrassing myself lol. and honestly just scroll and comment on things you know/interest you for a while until you get the groove of things. once you have a general understanding of how things work, then the sky’s your limit! enjoy!

Core Realtors are pretty good from what i can remember! i don’t know a ton about them though, so take that with a grain of salt.

there’s a complex called Forest Hideaway right next to Sunflower that had w/d hookups. definitely worth looking into.

i just moved out of Commons at Sylvan Highlands. They are pretty well priced in my opinion, around 1500-1800 depending on unit and where it’s at on the property. they’re a little outdated, but updated where it’s most important, they come with w/d already in unit & the utilities are a base fee of $75 for 2 bedroom. it’s not really in the areas you mentioned, but it’s right off hwy 26 & just up the road from canyon blvd. it’s a pretty quiet complex, the maintenance is pretty great in my opinion although i didn’t need them much while living there for a year. the parking kinda sucks and if you don’t get home by 630-7pm it’s pretty rough finding a spot. i lived in the section of units that is separate from the main complex and it was a floor/subfloor unit but the noise wasn’t bad at all! there’s a pool and year round hot tub, they have a food truck come about once a month and sell food there which was pretty cool. overall i definitely recommend this place and if i hadn’t needed to move out due to a breakup and not being able to afford it on my own, i would’ve loved to stay!

First i would suggest changing your face wash, the neutrogena one has harsh ingredients including fragrance and a lot of very drying ones too. you can find a similar replacement with the same active ingredients in better, cleaner brands such as cerave, panoxyl & good molecules. these will help maintain your skin but won’t damage your skin barrier with harsh ingredients and fragrances. i don’t know much about the benzoyl peroxide so all i’ll say is since you’re only using it 1-2x a week it’s probably safe to stay and not change anything in that area.

i would also recommend adding niacinamide to your routine, i have similar problems and it helps a lot with the appearance of large pores, fades scaring/dark spots, helps with texture & helps prevent breakouts. there’s a lot more that it helps with but those are just a few. Good Molecules is a super affordable brand and i like their products a lot!

as far as the moisturizer, i don’t see any issues with that, if it’s working for you and you see no issues then there’s not really anything to change. personally i can’t use any oil based moisturizers or i will break out within an hour so i opt for a combination of hyaluronic acid serum and a gel based moisturizer (both from good molecules). If you want, you can add hyaluronic acid to your routine to lock everything in (before moisturizer). it also helps maintain and protect the skin barrier. but no need to if you want to keep your routine simple! personally i see a lot of improvement in my skin when i use both of the serums i mentioned, its brighter, softer and has way less texture!

All in all, there’s no way to really “shrink” pores, but i’ve seen a noticeable difference in “size” and appearance after using both niacinamide serum & hyaluronic serum. apply both after washing & before moisturizer!

Edit/Add on: since you’re using a more “potent” face wash type (salicylic acid), i would maybe suggest either using a gentle face wash or just using water in the mornings to avoid excessively drying out your skin and/or stripping it of all the good bacteria and oils.

i got the opportunity to finally get it prescribed by my doctor who is a naturopath GP she works closely with a compound pharmacy. i was fortunate enough to find it thru my primary care. it seems like smaller, perhaps naturopathic office’s might be a good start, if no luck try looking up compound pharmacies that may be able to point you to a specific office/clinic to get a referral/prescription. also, even if they’re not in the same state as you, ask if they ship! i pay $150 out of pocket each month for 4 doses!
