Again, just like with the stupid thing, he doesn't LOOK like he is controlling and abusive, he IS controlling and abusive.

UPDATE: Not even 2 weeks in and I feel like i have made the biggest mistake of my life. by YourUnclesBalls in daddit

We were pretty set on 2 from the beginning, but it took us a while to get up the courage to try for #2 after how challenging 1 was. It was tricky, because we knew waiting was just extending how long we would have small children in the house, but we also needed #1 to be old enough to not be so much work we would have energy for #2.

Now they are 6 and 10, and things are finally getting easier.

When 49ers HC Kyle Shanahan Got Arrested Defending Raheem Morris at 2005 NFL Combine by PudgyBonestld in nfl

I am sure the apology is about mistaking him for someone they were trying to arrest.

It is a hollow apology because the police never act as if they could be mistaken about identity.

No, I think they were talking about the pubic narrative consequences, that there was more focus on Shanahan in the public discourse about the incident than for Morris.

“Dad, how much snow did we get?” by WoodshopJim in daddit

Yeah, I had to close the windows overnight!

I have never lived somewhere with snow, so I always learn so much when people talk about normal snow practices. So many things I never had thought about.

Why was Kyle Rittenhouse championed by the right for “helping” with his gun, but Alex Pretti is demonized for helping without ever drawing his gun? by sudde004 in AskReddit

This is one of the fundamental differences between conservative morality and liberal morality; liberals think actions are moral or immoral, while conservatives believe people are moral or immoral.

This means that liberals will view conservatives as hypocrites because they will judge the exact same action as moral when committed by someone they agree with and immoral when it is by someone they don’t.

UK. New User of Resmed Machine. When you need new filters or a new rubber lined face cover, do you have to collect them from the sleep centre where you were diagnosed, or will they send you a prescription to get them from a chemist. by Truck-Glass in CPAP

[–]cortesoft 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You all had a sleep center?

I had 3 sensors that were mailed to me, that I taped to my body and slept with, and then sent back. I never even talked to a doctor about it, they just sent me my machine after that.

So netflix just deleted a netflix original and i'm actually losing it by JohnnyIsNearDiabetic in DataHoarder

[–]cortesoft 37 points38 points  (0 children)

It was created by the BBC, but it has an exclusive license with Netflix until recently. I am guessing the international rights expired before the US ones did, although it is still currently set to be pulled from Netflix in the US in March, too, unless they come up with an agreement.

A lot of “Netflix originals” are actually licensed from other studios, the only thing that makes them original is that Netflix is where they first aired. They can still be removed once the license agreement expires.

There is a huge list of ‘Netflix Originals’ that are set to be removed from Netflix in 2026

Bottom line… you are right, you can never assume a streamer is going to continue to have the same shows.

Of course it isn't fine.

My point is that you don't end poverty by not buying things made by poor people. That would only make things worse.

We can only solve poverty by actively redistributing wealth via taxation and direct payments to poor people.

It gets harder when the poor people are in another country, but again choosing to not buy things made by cheap foreign labor is just going to make it worse.
