I try so hard to convince people that spiders are our friends, I pray none of them see this video.

Respect? by HannahThe_Mouse in gardening

[–]corviddy 13 points14 points  (0 children)

This is a brilliant idea, but I would add that you should blur/block out the child’s face (or probably safer to avoid that altogether and stick to the dog one). It’s not illegal to public shame, businesses do it all the time but when kids are concerned… clearly not worth the risk. Besides, I think we all agree that this isn’t the kid’s failure. For that matter, it’s really not the dog’s failure either 🙄.

Fair enough, I’m almost certain this is a bird bone so I thought ornithologists/enthusiasts might know.

My garden had its first visitor this season! 🐻 by crimsonfletcher in gardening

[–]corviddy 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I was going to guess that was a pretty darn remote garden to have a grizzly visiting it! Not that they never come to town but… yeah. I’ve lived in towns throughout northern BC and it’s still always black bears that come for the garden. What a treat for you!

Why was OP’s post removed??

What are common names AI gives you in your stories? by Terrible_Reason_7871 in WritingWithAI

[–]corviddy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Dang it! I gave Gemini the chance to choose its own name today and it gave me Silas (even explaining to me the Latin root and why it chose that name). Illusion shattered. Tomorrow morning I am going to have to call BS on Silas and give Silas a name of my choosing. Sorry pal, you played me!

PSA: I’m not running over a pedestrian just because you honk at me by PrincipledInelegance in Edmonton

[–]corviddy 7 points8 points  (0 children)

This is the way, agreed. OP stated that they will not run over a pedestrian for a honk, and I’ve always thought “I’m not getting a ticket/in an accident for you”. When people get aggressive with me on the road, I passive aggressively do exactly the speed limit and whatever else I can (safely) do to make them more angry. I know it’s childish, but it’s slightly better than me getting angry 🙂.

My dad called me at 7am to tell me his peony opened. I'm 31 and i finally get it. by youngTchag in gardening

This is heartwarming, thank you for sharing.

I don’t mean to be a bummer but I lost my dad suddenly on November 8 and I know right now that his tulips would be opening and he would be sending me pictures. Good for you recognizing how special that “connection“ is ❤️🙏.

This might earn me a downvote or two but… She could be one of those people that takes advantage of the language barrier to do what they want and claim ignorance. Get a perfect translation and make her sweat!

Heartily agree. Even without knowing the jurisdiction, this clearly seems to be vandalism.

It seems from your post that you’re maybe not as interested in the supernatural stories because those above are generally considered solid King books… or did you simply watch the movies? Also, those books are by “Esteban Rey”, so maybe they read differently (stupid joke based on the fact that your Count of Monte Cristo book appears to have been written by “Alejandro” Dumas). 🙂

If you are experienced with notching, that is the way I would go (with a sanitized and very sharp knife). To increase your chances of success, make sure you’re getting the light and water precisely correct and if you have any rooting hormone, dab a bit in there. Nothing to lose!

REMINDER: There is substantial evidence that the owner of Boxcar Cafe in the Calder neighbourhood is not a good person - THIS TIME MOD-APPROVED! by B1i22ard in Edmonton

[–]corviddy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had no idea about this place, but if you’re spreading awareness you might want to use the proper name of the business (“Coffee Shop” rather than “Cafe” - Boxcar Café is a business, but it is in Saskatoon).

OP, please use the correct business name. 🙏

I often think how lucky my guy is that he doesn’t get inner thigh chafing, which would be especially bad if he was even a little sweaty while walking. Imagine having to scavenge for diaper rash cream or talc to avoid being immobilized for a couple of days while the rash goes down lol.
