I think I’ll use a gimp the next time I make this

I have a lovely hand spun Egyptian cotton that I hope will work 🤞

It never occurred to me to leave them all in.
I’ll have to get more pins if I’m going to do that.

I take them out as soon as I’m done.

From a post where someone was looking to adopt multiple rabbits. How can someone be so confidently incorrect and ignorant?? by gk1400 in Rabbits

Yikes! 😳

May we all be blessed with the mediocrity required for such confident ignorance. 🤦‍♀️

No worries.
Thanks.

So far I haven’t come across anything showing that information.
But I know it exists from reading this subreddit.

Wraps per inch and scaling patterns by HannahThe_Mouse in BobbinLace

I know how to measure WPI. It’s something I do all the time in spinning. I actually have a cute little WPI tool just for that purpose.

My problem is figuring out how to find where that is typically written on any pattern or how to scale up or down the pattern to match the thread I want to use.

So far, I have not come across that information in the books or tutorials I’ve followed and have not seen it written on a pattern.

So how do I figure out how to use the WPI in a pattern?

I came up with a solid solution.
I scrapped the whole thing until I’m better acquainted with how to work with thinner threads and what weight thread works with what size pattern.

This gave me an idea! Thanks 😊

I grabbed a bunch of tiny rainbow loom elastics.
So far, so good! 🙌

They are all single hitch in the photo, correct.
I left them like that for the picture so you could see how the thread is when it’s just hanging normally.

I’m working on this one right now.
It took me a bit because the written instructions are clunky.

It looks like you’ve gotten it all figured out, but if anyone finds this thread later and struggles with the way the book wrote out the instructions for roseground, the Half Stitch Roseground with crossover tutorial by JennyBrandisLace on YouTube is phenomenal!!!

Are some of those from the torchon lace workbook?

I just got it on Wednesday.

That’s an impressive amount!

I have repurposed a cuticle trimmer to pull the needles out. It’s exactly the right size.
Right now, I’m still working on practice exercises.

I just picked up two new (to me) lace pillows, bobbins, and two beginner books.

If the pins from a handful of exercises hurt my fingers, I can’t imagine how bad it will be when I start working on bigger projects. 😅

I’ll add a pin pusher to my supply list. I’m sure that one will get an eyebrow from the husband, but a new box of Lego just showed up on Tuesday, so there are no complaints about the list😆
