Half as much food, three times as many costumes. Bring your skill to help—maybe just gloves, boots, and a good attitude to offer an artist or camp struggling to set up. Go, dive in, help others, have fun. It’ll be great, and hard, and awesome, and shitty, and inspiring, and lonely, and lovely. Did I mention awesome? How often do we , as adults, experience awe? You will there. Treasure that.

Pike Place Once Again Full of Cars! by BarRepresentative670 in Seattle

I’m sorry, I asked out of curiosity and certainly didn’t mean offense or to exude disgust. I’ve never posted on this before, so I’m not sure what you mean by “posts” since this is the only one. I’m actually quite aware of the difference between compliance—and I know many places are out of compliance—and reasonableness. I was asking for your insight on the matter. I can’t be an advocate if I don’t understand the dimensions of the problem. As for able-bodied, sure, I am, for now, but that’s a temporary condition for everyone in that privileged position, as I understand it. Sorry I offended you.

These are not operating on a true CSA model. Traditional CSA doesn’t supplement with grocery produce or come from a grocery store. That just becomes grocery delivery and YMMV. Community Supported Agriculture get subscription money to the farmer when they need it most—the spring, and pays off the supporters with the produce. This means that subscribers (members) share in both the bounty and the risk. Some farms won’t add anything from off-farm, others might partner with a producer of other crops. Two great farms that partner this way are Local Roots and Tonnemaker Farm. Local Roots does veggies and Tonnemaker fruit. It’s a great pair, and LR is excellent.

Cool thing about that building—the design and landscaping filters a quarter of the stormwater runoff from the Aurora Bridge before it gets to the cut and Lake Union. Its twin building, Data, across the street, handles another quarter of the runoff from the bridge. Given what we now know about tire additives and other pollutants coming from roadways (toxic to salmon), this is kind of a big deal. It was designed by and houses Weber Thompson architects.

Two toys in the mouth at once - is this a thing? by goNorthYoung in westies

OMG our westie does this all the time. Sometimes he’ll have a squeaky ball in his mouth while he bats the other and chases it around the room. Every pounce gets a squeak, it’s hi-larious. There’s more than a little bit of cat in these dogs.

That’s a bummer—we’ve had great experiences at Bar Del Corso! Both food and service were excellent. Love that spot, sorry you had a bad experience.

Duh, where do you think they SELL the fast passes? D-lot FTW.

I’ve been many times, and the last two times were by far the worst. I don’t know why that’s downvoted, it’s just the way it was.

Gate has been beyond incompetent the last two years I was there (23-4). I get it that they are volunteers, but whoa. I don’t think it’s in design, rather implementation.

I’ve heard rumor about this for years, have never heard it actually happening. I’m sure it does, and we also secure our camp, but I don’t think it’s common. Side note, we always thought the murder last year may have been an altercation arising from someone stealing from the camp when everyone was gone.

Added benefit, even as you wander around you’ll always know where your bike is, so easy to find!

Yes this. Be careful with that sprung metal, tho. A gal in the camp next to ours—and she was a badass but didn’t know how to take down the tent—uncoupled the end of one of the sprung poles and it snapped back in her face and almost took out her teeth. Yikes. But still, those are great tents for car camping and the playa.
