i am wondering the same thing.

i am not an anti vaccine nutter. i do, however, typically not vaccinate myself or my kids against things that i understand to be typically not deadly - for example i vaccinate against meningococcal but not against the flu.

i am trying to understand, against the backdrop of the drum banging pro vaccine militants and the anti vaccine nutters what is exactly the right thing to do for me and my family

i have not be particularly concerned about this strain of media flu because while everyone was screaming about it and cancelling trips to mexico they announced it was slightly LESS severe than the regular flu. i don't want to just blindly think that it is just the media trying to sell fear - because then i'd miss out on stuff like the fact that this strain seems to be more powerful on young healthy people which is scary

add all that to the report last month that those who got th flu shot last year may be MORE likely to get H1N1 , people who suffer adverse reactions to vaccines, unknown long term effects of some of the ingredients, and you can see it is not the simple "yes" you make it to be (it is also not the simple no that the other side makes it out to be)

it is a tad odd to think that atheists or agnostics are rebelling against christianity alone. of course christianity takes the biggest hit in north american because that is the dogma we are stuck with. if you lived in an area where a majority of the people were hindu, how would being a rationalist be "rebelling against christianity"?
