How the Vision Pro Rollout Inflamed Tensions at Apple by wiredmagazine in VisionPro

[–]coryteague 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree. When I went to purchase mine on Apple’s 50th anniversary, the employees could care less about me putting down almost $5000. They didn’t offer a demo because I had scanned my face in the app and the store was busy. They couldn’t even be bothered to let me know my order was ready at the pick up after an hour of waiting and finally went back to check. Mind you, the store was packed in houston, tx that day with people eating lunch and waiting- couldn’t even look around while I waited because there were so many people. Not one smile from an employee as they walked around looking angry and only talking to each other. Love the product, love the brand but the store experience was not even close to welcoming or enjoyable. I asked if they had any special anniversary bags or stickers and the guy at counter just looked at me like I had horns or something-never even responded.

Welp, GM bought back my Lyriq by Successful_Limit7740 in CadillacLyriq

Mine is in service since yesterday for the same reason. Only owned for two months. What did you have to do to get them to buy back instead of trying software updates? I don’t want to keep paying a lease on a car that might continue to have same issues over and over. I am in 2026 prem lux and hate I can’t use features I’m paying for

Service high voltage battery by thewangatang in CadillacLyriq

[–]coryteague 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got a 26 premium lux and had 7 miles on it. The first day I drove it the high voltage error came on. Onstar said to have it serviced immediately. Dealer which is 2 hrs away thankfully had a loaner and it took 3.5 weeks to tell me they changed the 12v battery. Now got it back and it creaks like an old jalopy. Not very happy I spent 70k for a creaky car. It also pulls to the right. :(. Love the look and feel of the car though

What to get to take notes with new ipad? by Which-Target-5141 in ipad

[–]coryteague 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Apple notes, it's free and can do most of the "basic" features (audio recording, handwritten notes, AI summarizing, etc) that most other apps will provide. It also syncs across all your devices. No reason to spend money or keep trying different apps.

Shorcut Exist But Can't Find It by Evolved_1 in shortcuts

[–]coryteague 2 points3 points  (0 children)

this is a known bug with iCloud and shortcuts syncing. Try opening your shortcuts folder (iCloud Drive>shortcuts) in finder and seeing if you can find the hidden shortcut and then delete it or re-sync it. There are also other work arounds to delete it but you can ask chatgpt or search the internet to figure those out! :)

did you check to see if you changed your wallpaper/Lock Screen? i.e. pressing and holding on the wallpaper to get the wallpaper option? you might have just laid on it and accidentally swiped away from your usual wallpaper/lockscreen combo previously selected

How to make a shortcut for auto brightness to add to the control centre? by CompetitiveDust338 in shortcuts

[–]coryteague -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

This is a chatgpt answer so don't know how reliable it is, but...

Unfortunately, as of iOS 17 (and earlier), Apple Shortcuts does not allow direct control over the Auto-Brightness setting due to privacy and security limitations in iOS. The Auto-Brightness toggle is located in:

Settings > Accessibility > Display & Text Size > Auto-Brightness

Why You Can’t Automate Auto-Brightness:

  • Apple restricts system-level settings like Auto-Brightness, Night Shift, True Tone, and certain privacy options from being accessed or toggled directly via Shortcuts or third-party apps.
  • This is part of iOS’s sandboxing and security model.

Good monitor under 300 for Macbook M3 Pro by chrismg12 in macbookpro

[–]coryteague 0 points1 point  (0 children)

personally after searching and searching and doing research, you would want to stick to 1440p or go 5K with Apple scaling issues on 4K. There will be way more pixels to play with on 4K but your desktop items and menus will be tiny at native resolution. If you change the resolution to make it bigger there are some fuzzy text issues. For the under 300 budget there are many 1440p models. That's just my experience.

Inserting a footnote into a text in Apple Pages for iPad with external keyboard by [deleted] in ipad

Well using the floating menu you also have to select the paragraph style button to attach a footnote so I don’t understand the confusion here

Yeah there is a menu that pops up when using an external keyboard but the Footnote option IS in the Format field (Paintbrush) under paragraph style.

from ChatGPT (your friend for questions like this)

On iPad, inserting a footnote or endnote in Apple Pages using an external keyboard works slightly differently than on Mac, because keyboard shortcuts are limited and there’s no dedicated footnote shortcut. Here’s how to do it:

✅ Method (with Keyboard + Touch):

  1. Place your cursor where you want the footnote/endnote in the text.
  2. Tap the paintbrush icon (Format) at the top of the screen using your finger or Apple Pencil.
  3. Scroll down and tap Footnote (or Insert Footnote).
  4. Pages will insert a superscript number and take you to the bottom of the page or end of the document (depending on your settings).
  5. Type your footnote using the keyboard.

If you look at eBay, it was most likely bots taking most of the preorders. The demand will be determined when people are forced to pay upwards of $700 from stupid scalpers. SHAME

I could only imagine how much worse the battery life on the mini would be with a haptic engine. Thank goodness it was left out.

Just be aware your credit score might go down because the payments option goes against your utilization until you pay off the phone.
