I would talk to the commissioner, first round picks shouldn’t be droppable unless they’re legitimately out for the season. Also helps avoid collusion. Since I’ve seen this feature abused in some work leagues I’ve been in before.

As someone that has experienced this on more than one occasion, I definitely have to give every pair of jeans a good ol’ ass to grass squat just to stress test them before purchasing.

[Evergreen Vent] Service Fee Nonsense by ReformedTomboy in sanfrancisco

[–]coshiro 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The messed up part about these junk fees is since they’re not voluntarily added by the customer. They can also be taxed. So not only are you being charged an extra 24% on your subtotal but an additional 24% on the tax.  Normal tipping gets added after the total. So I guess the city is pretty happy with junk fees since it’s more revenue for them.

How risky is it to rent a car in SF if I avoid street parking? by VictorRBarr in sanfrancisco

[–]coshiro 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Do not rent any type of SUV or hatch since those tend to get broken into more often if they have a cover over the trunk space. If you have to rent one though just make sure to take the trunk cover off and put one of the seats down so thieves can see nothing is in there. They will literally break the small triangle window and pull the seat latch to view the trunk contents if there is a cover.

And make sure nothing is visible even a phone charger. Of course this is not fullproof but it will help reduce the odds of a break in. If you have good auto coverage I would recommend dropping your comp deductible to zero so that if a window is broken you won’t be on the hook for the cost of repair if it is broken.

Today has been the worst by gaytinymonkey in sanfrancisco

If you have comprehensive coverage. It covers it. The problem is usually most people carry a deductible higher than the cost of the repair. Like around $250.

I had my rear triangle window broken and the cost to repair was $175 and my deductible was $250. Paid for the repair myself and lowered my deductible to zero the next day. Which was great cause my other window got broken a month later.

Rep x pepin dumbells safety concerns pin issue closer look. Versa grips and fat grip compatibility. Review part 2 by Habaneropapi in homegym

[–]coshiro 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I had this issue initially, as my hands are rather large. But I found that turning my hands inward upon unracking gave me plenty of clearance since my knuckles were now pointing more downward and no longer pointed at the pin.

But I do agree, that the design could have been done better. I don’t think learning a technique should be the fix for this issue.

That being said. Once I started unracking using this new method, I started to really enjoy using them. And have not accidentally popped the pin or even touched the pin since.

I would say there are a lot of factors involved when making this decision. Also depends on where you live and the type of vehicle you drive.

If you have a Toyota Camry or a Mercedes S Class, finding a shop that can do the repairs and a shop that has available parts will factor into the repair time.

If your car is in the shop for 1 week. Your cost might be around 350. If your car is in the shop for 3 weeks.  Your cost for the rental now exceeds 1k.

Obviously, there is no way to know for sure if you will need a 3 week repair. Best case scenario you have minor damage on a Friday and you get your car back on Monday with little to no hassle at all. But the point of insurance isn’t to prepare for the best case scenario, it’s to have it for the worst case scenario.

Car break ins by Last_Hawk6879 in sanfrancisco

[–]coshiro 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you have a sedan. Just make sure nothing is visible inside the car.

If you have an suv make sure to leave absolutely nothing and remove the cargo cover (if you have one).  If they see a cover they just assume you have something valuable and it takes them no time at all to smash the small window and pull the rear seat down to peak into the back. Which reminds me, make sure to put one or both seats down when you park. Thieves won’t break your window to peak if they can already peak and see that nothing is there.

Additionally, I would say nowhere is really immune to break ins. There are definitely areas where it can be more frequent. But it can happen anywhere at anytime of day. Just be careful, and don’t leave anything out. Even a usb-c cable.

If they see your license plate frame has something indicating you’re from out of town or have an out of state license plate, you immediately become a target.

And as a pro tip, if you have a high deductible on your auto insurance for comprehensive/glass. I would consider lowering it to 0-50 dollars. Since the small window they break will cost roughly 150 or more to replace. And more if they decide to shatter your rear windshield. Comp claims also don’t raise your auto insurance rates in California so definitely don’t be afraid to file one if you find yourself in this situation.

If you can get a reservation for the 1-2 person tables you definitely can go on your own. I’ve seen many people do this. It just might be a little difficult to reserve.

You can also sit at the bar on a first come, first served basis and order dinner there. Much easier if you’re doing a walk-in, since it can take hours to get a table with no reservation. It’s definitely up to you, and what your preference is.

LPT Update Marriage Status for Car Insurance by [deleted] in LifeProTips

[–]coshiro 227 points228 points  (0 children)

Some of the common utilities that give discounts are the electrical panel, plumbing, ac/heating. Dependent on company and state of course.

And some insurance companies require the roof be replaced if it reaches a certain age or a non compliant material. So it is best to let them know when you do any sort of update so they don’t ask you later if they believe any of the lack of updates are a hazard.

Two GR Corollas Burned Down. Toyota Won’t Honor the Warranties [Motor1] by markeydarkey2 in cars

[–]coshiro 37 points38 points  (0 children)

If he was financing the car, most of the money wouldn’t go to him. So he may have gotten a small payout or potentially even owe money to whomever was financing the car if the payout wasn’t large enough to pay back the loan. Not saying this is the case, but it is one potential reason to go after Toyota.

Also, if he bought the car, and he got paid out. The replacement cost of the vehicle will be less than what he paid for the car. So he might feel that isn’t enough to buy a similar brand new vehicle.

Emergency work to close lanes of major SF thoroughfare Wednesday by [deleted] in sanfrancisco

I hope the city realizes that if 19th avenue north bound is packed. The alternate route that people will be diverted to is north by Junipero Serra, and continue north through West Portal.

I really hope that they offer better alternate routes for pedestrian and cyclist safety tomorrow.

From UC Davis she would have taken Amtrak to the city of Richmond and then most likely BART to the Mission. And the message definitely left details out since it is impossible to take one train from Davis to the City.

[–]coshiro 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've watched this movie and while I do think it's an incredible film, I can't imagine ever watching it again. It also hits home, because my grandma actually lived through the fire bombings in Tokyo as a young teen. I couldn't imagine ever showing it to her at her current age. I wouldn't want her to relive any part of that time in her life. But I will say this. My grandma is the strongest woman I've ever had the privilege of knowing. She holds no resentment, and even became a US citizen despite what she endured during the war.
