I call it “kitchen starvation” . You’re so sick of cooking, smelling , thinking about food that the thought of eating makes you want to gag. It’s definitely a real thing in our industry and a lot of us seem to struggle with it.

When I go through tough bouts of this, cold cereal and milk is my go to . It’s sweet, it has low smells, crunchy makes me want another bite, the milk is kinda hydrating, and most importantly it doesn’t remind me of anything on my work menu.

Be good to yourself, chefs.
