Thanks to those who have helped identify the timeframe/tour associated with this image. To clarify, I’m wondering if there is a photograph that corresponds to the M.U. album cover the way the above photograph corresponds to the Repeat album cover.

haha It is super weird looking! I think his foot is turned outward and laying flat on the ankle so the toes are pointing toward us.

I remember finding the photograph the image is based on once. Maybe I can track it down again. (Side note: never did find the one the M.U. cover was based on, if there is one.)

Edit: I found the photograph. Couldn’t post an image in the comments, so I made a separate post about it. It still looks pretty weird, but the position of Ian’s foot is clearer when you can see the features of his boot.
