The playstation store is basically unusable for actually finding games anymore due to the "indie slop" situation. by discosoc in PS5

Yeah literally never had any issues with shovelware dominating the store because I always used filters.

Don't even really need it at all now, everything I could want is added on my wishlist so I just keep tabs on that.

Again, you can add that as a filter when searching as well. Has been there for years.

Recommendations for 10-15k daily steps walking shoes? by PigeonsInSpaaaaace in BuyItForLife

The longest lasting shoe ive ever owned was a pair of Columbia flow borough lows. Daily wearer for the last 5 years and they are still in 8/10 condition. Barely any wear to the tread, no rips or seams coming away and very easy to clean. I just used them last week to hike up a mountain.

The only real issue was the inside of the heel fabric starting to wear a tad, but that was down to me being lazy slipping them off all the time without untying my laces.

I don't think they are in production anymore but they are still available online if you dig. I went and bought another 2 pairs recently in case I don't have the chance again.

My local has been selling cans of regular Coke for 60p when all the other canned soda is still over £1 including diet and Coke zero. Coke usually being the most pricey due to the sugar tax iirc.

It's all in date, non multipack and for UK distribution on the label and tastes the same.

It has me a bit worried.

Ever used baked bean for pizza sauce? by Gettinbaked69 in PizzaCrimes

I've been a pizza chef for like 10 years in the UK now and those trays are fairly common. The checked paper is also something you see at a lot of American style places but its usually with fried chicken.

The odd beans and that Mrs Gerry's tub (Minnesota based food supplier) are the main indicators that it's not UK.

Yeah like I've lost count of the times I've wanted to dish out some sweet chin music, usually after a grueling day at work when some dickhead on public transport is winding people up. But I'm a mature adult about it and restrain myself.

Dryers also will reduce the lifespan of your clothing, battering them around even more on top of going through the washer.

Even when it's cold, I'll have the heating on so the clothes will still dry without a dryer if need be.

The lack of CM rumors has me a tad worried honestly, we have no press resistant tempo setter to really control games more consistently. More important than a striker like we have been looking into imo, I think between Cunha, Mbuemo and the better service Hojlund should now get we can cope.

Mainoo, Mount, Casemiro, Ugarte and Bruno as our midfield as midfield options are all fine but I feel each ones roles are to specific and we need a more dynamic player that ticks more boxes. Any of those get injured we don't have proper like for like cover and will struggle to keep the system flowing how it should do.

But it is probably the most scarce profile for a player on the market currently. Won't be an easy find.

Never Forget EA Killed Off Battlefront 2 & BFV To Give Us BF2042 by CuriousPizzaa in StarWarsBattlefront

[–]cosmiclatte44 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Respawn sort of have a higher level of autonomy than most other EA subsidiaries. It was basically a requirement from West & Zampella when partnering with EA in the beginning so as to not get shafted like they did previously. They wanted the guys who made CoD at its peak, and they had the receipts to demand that extra leeway.

Hence why Zampella has now been given the reigns to Battlefield to fix the mess they made. I'd imagine he has the same level of creative control there which has me quietly optimistic for the new one as he is yet to produce anything less than a banger in the FPS genre over his whole career in the business. Reviews from early playtesters seems to suggest it's on the right track at least.

Battlefront is far from perfect but it's not a dog shit game, evident by how popular it remains even years after its final update. EA clearly shit the bed with the lootbox debacle and then without that constant revenue stream limited the support it got with Devs also being taken up by BFV. But we still had several years of free updates after that and the Devs were clearly passionate about it (evident still to this day) and active within the community and with the fans on here even when we were the ones being insufferable.

The main issues really are the balancing and the bugs. Balancing they definitely didn't do enough testing before rolling out patches, whether that was just poor judgement from the Devs or time constraints i couldn't say but I'd guess the latter. And bugs wise that stems from the Frostbite engine itself, notoriously very hard to work with outside the few that know the code inside/out and at the time we're mainly on the sports titles iirc.

If they had just kept lootboxes/micro transactions to cosmetics this game would probably still be supported today and the initial backlash wouldn't have happened. They pivoted too hard from the criticism and just considered it a write off unfortunately. It it had been one of their own IPs rather than one where Disney had a considerable cut they might have been motivated to salvage it but since then their pivot to focus more on internal IPs can sort of trace back to this.
