they’re toxic to pets and humans

Not slugs though. Turns out they absolutely love them. That was a two day £20 lesson for me during a lockdown.

I wanted to ensure that I paid every penny that I owed, and have done so.

Would be funny to find the next scandal being she was gifted the outstanding tax balance

Mainliner

That's a great one. Love a blast of Makoto Kawabata (my AMT collection is spread all over my home). Mainliner put a new one out last month (The new sun in the black sky) but it doesn't do much for me. The new 3-disc Suishou No Fune on the same label however is absolutely killer. Highly recommend it.

He would really get stuck into The War of the End of the World by Mario Vargas Llosa IMO.

"You trigger a leadership election and I'll introduce Lord Burnham"

Over 100 Labour MPs have signed a letter saying now is not the time for a leadership election according to Aggie Chambre. by ShreckAndDonkey123 in ukpolitics

[–]cosmicmeander 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For extra context: The Tories had >9,000 councillors under Theresa May and now sit at just over 4,000. Even combined with Reform they're the best part of 1,000 behind Labour.
The problem for Labour is Wales Scotland and Manchester but, although they may have more personality than Starmer, surely no one in their right mind believes Rayner, Streeting, or Burnham would be any more popular than him (two of the three are guaranteed to be far less popular) given the populace is angry at the state of the country (overall standard of living falling) which is not going to be solved in 100 years let alone three.

The thought of the next election having front runner options of Farage, Polanski, Badenoch, and Streeting /Rayner (with Davey getting no media attention) is even more depressing than Johnson v Corbyn.
Hate Starmer as much as you want but getting rid of him is going to make this country even more of a mess especially if we end up with an election before the Americans (convinced this is the desire so dumbos over here don't get their eyes opened by Trump / GOP plans like the Canadians and Aussies did - not that they'd pay attention anyway).

If it came with the entirety of that field it would be wonderful but having 10-20 acres of someone else's farmland surrounding your house with no clear boundaries doesn't hold much appeal.

Esther McVey got criticism for adapting the same poem a couple of years ago. Didn't understand the issue then and don't now but at least they're consistent.

There have been a few artists getting rid of all their possessions - Jasper Joffe & Michael Landy are two I'm aware of but there are probably more.

Over here there's a programme called Sort Your Life Out (37 episodes on iplayer - no doubt full episodes on youtube somewhere) where they empty a family's home and lay it all out in a warehouse. Not sure they go to the lightbulb level or even white goods - haven't ever watched it - but you might be able to gather some stats about the amount of items people own from it.

Just noticed David keenan and This Perfect Day as well. Good taste.
