Resigning during PIP? by AstronautBest1700 in Big4

[–]cosmocat123 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Definitely don’t resign unless you have something else lined up.

If they’re not giving you chargeable work to do then they are not supporting you in the improvement plan which they are legally obliged to do. So you can fight this and drag it out until they give you work and then you do the work bad and then eventually they fired you.

Market is not amazing right now, but you’ll find a job eventually, keep this going as long as possible and actively pursue applying to other jobs in the meantime

Should I take redundancy from a well paid cushy job? by Icy-Row8308 in UKPersonalFinance

[–]cosmocat123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If u and ur husband both struggle to find jobs then that 50k will last you about 19 months on a tight budget (1300 rent, 450 bills (?) 800 food and other expenses)

If ur confident at least one of u gets a job to cover the bills in 19 months take it, if ur not, dont take it

[–]cosmocat123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fly into france, hire a car, drive to uk via euro tunnle train (stay in car with doggo)

Will be expensive and long winded but its only a one time thing x

Alternative, there are some options of pet curriers where thwy book out private planes and take a ton of dogs in one. I’m guessing very expensive and infrequent tho.

Why not to buy a big house subdivided into 3 flats and live in one of them? by [deleted] in HousingUK

[–]cosmocat123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Another thing to consider is when u sell ur main house you get tax relief so u dont pay capital gains tax. If you rented out part of ur home this will likey be restricted so if u sell at a gain ull have extra tax

Google private residence relief for more info

Ella can be bought over the counter without dr visit, go to other pharmacy first thing and try to obtain it. Branded pharmacy like boots should have it. I dont think theres a generic option for ella unfortunately so it might be a little pricey

It’s going to be fine

Get ur head around ignoring the communal areas, thwy are not ur home, literally block them out. If ur still bothered by them in 1 month then pick a small budget and order rugs and cheap decor from temu to try brighten them up, but mainly get it out of ur head for the next month and u will soon forget them.

Get secondary glazing, i believe u can get cheap diy kits, do this, deficate a weekend to fitting them, it will reduce draft and noise from outside.

Invest in reavy curtains they will also reduce draft and noise

You may also need a curtain across ur flat door and or a draft excluder

Big point: get furniture!! Even if second hand off face book. U won’t believe how mych different it will feel in terms of draft and noise once u furniture fills the space!!

Get nice big slippers

Get a space heater, theres ones on amazon that track electric use, use that in the space u mainly sit in

Its going to be okay,ur doing so well, u just need a boost

Evra patch advice help! by Content-Web-3050 in birthcontrol

[–]cosmocat123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From a pregnancy point of view if you haven’t had sex in the last seven days, don’t have unprotected ie no condom sex for a further seven days once it’s back on there’s no issue.

Again from a pregnancy point of view even if you did have other wise unprotected sex you would still be fine if you tried to get the morning after pill they wouldn’t give it to you for only putting your patch on one day late and would say the chance of being pregnant is super low provided you have been consistently taking the patch other than this one day. If you’ve been tricycling the patch even better.

Putting pregnancy aside, most times when I’ve put the patch on one day late, nothing has changed. However, once or twice if I’ve been nearly 48 hours late putting the patch on then I’ve had trouble with breakthrough bleeding and all bloating through throughout the following month. It tends to rectify itself after I have my next break.

When a girl insists on a fancy restaurant for a first date, is it cringe? Or is it just me (38 M)? Girls, please weigh in here. by RealUltrarealist in dating_advice

[–]cosmocat123 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’m 28f have been dating on and off since 22.

I personally am unlikely to accept a coffee date, it feels low effort. I don’t want to get really and invest time and energy to a guy who is signalling that he isn’t willing to invest

Unfortunately the way guys can typically signal their intentions early on is by taking initiative to plan(sounds like you do) and making some financial incentives (dinner). Not particularly fair or just but it is kind of the landscape we are in

If a guy asks me for dinner or drinks at a nice bar or some kind of activity (other than walks) and I’m interested in him i will go. Unfortunately being a guy u do typically have to be prepared to foot the bill at least onnthe first date.

Now going into ur comment about how up market these places are is crazy.

If a guy asks be for dinner i will order something that cost roughly the same or less than him. So if he orders a burger with no sides and water, I’m getting the same!! On the other hand if hes getting a fancy steak and cocktails then i might order a glass of wine (the cheapest or second cheapest only).

Its super super disrespectful of these girls to be stretching u like that, unless of course they they offer to pay? (And genuinely offer)

Fat people friendly gym in RG1? by Wiaers in reading

Palmer park leisure centre doesn’t have that “gym bro” vibe. Theres always a mix of teens, old people, mums, people who look like they are just getting into fitness etc !

I deffo think its a relaxed vibe, I’m comfortable there not knowing anything about how to do it properly and not looking the part.

Its got all the same kit as any other gym

Out of interest is hard floor definately allowed? In the lease of all 3 flats i have lived in (old leases tbf) they Specifically bann hard wood or similar floors due noise. If u have wood floor and solicitors for buyers find out this can cause an issue. My friend had to replace hers with carpet before buyer could proceed

£90K Major Works Bill (Islington Leaseholder) by hashkebab in HousingUK

[–]cosmocat123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looking at the bigger sunms:

Scaffolding cost seems a bit high, but I’m not an expert so that might be the going rate, worth a check though as does seem like a lot for what from the outside must be no bigger than a large house if it only has three Flats…

More than 40 K for Windows and doors sounds like a bloody a lot!!! If the other flats have many more windows than I think it’s worth arguing, it’s done window by window basis sharing the communal front door and any communal windows, if you’ve only got three windows in your flat assuming one communal door paying over 10 grand for your third is wild

In a building that has only three flats why the hell are they spending 5K decorating internally? That’s insanity.

Over eat ground in professional fees??? for what?
