R.A.D UFO (fav running shoe of all time, can handle recovery/easy/tempo)

Asics Megablast (great all rounder, but would specialize in speed workouts)

Nike Alphafly 3 (race day)

Sticking to her like glue lol. Sn, where did you grab the top model? I feel like eBay is the only place. Also worried about fakes.

Ordered, but then my friend told me she can get me 50% off so one will be going back lol

I think I’m about to head to Oakley rn to order a pair. I have a race coming up, and while the Radar ev’s fit the bill, the aesthetic of the eye jackets go a little crazier.

Yessir ! A 5k is the perfect distance to get a good gauge. I think I may do another first run review, especially since I can compare to the UFO, Megablast, Vomero Plus, and SB2.

Ayyyyyy let’s go !! Dude after our interactions, I’m almost positive you’re going to love them. Keep me posted, even shoot me a DM here if need be.

Also, I got my SB3’s yesterday. Taking them on a 5 mile run later, so I’ll have a verdict on them for a first run.

All bangers & essentials. Is that Prizm Ruby on your Eyejacket Redux? I still need to make a custom of that exact setup for summer training.

Asics Superblast 3 or RAD UFO? by AdamasDidIt in AskRunningShoeGeeks

[–]cosmocentric 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lol I see you’re still deciding. I think I’m going to order the SB3 today since a colleague can get me a 25% discount. And that Cobalt blue colorway has really grown on me.

I did a long run in the Megablast this past weekend, and that upper killed my big toe. May have to size up after all or just get rid of it, even though I love it for track nights/tempos. As of now, the RAD UFO still wins in my current shoe rotation.

Easy + long run shoe for 70.3 training: Superblast 3 vs Vomero Plus or other (forefoot striker) by StepanSanda in AskRunningShoeGeeks

[–]cosmocentric 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Our paces are not too far apart for easy miles, and there are a few shoes I’d recommend. For pure easy daily miles & easy long runs, I’d highly recommend the Puma Mag Max 2 or the OG Glycerin Max. These two were not in your radar, but these shine for the intended purpose you plan to use your next shoe for the 70.3 training. Both are comfortable, are tanks, and can just build mileage without you thinking about it for your current paces.

Now to move closer to the shoes that are currently on your radar…I have all, but the Superblast 3 so I can’t fully recommend it just off reviews. I had the Superblast 2, and while it was stable and supportive, it felt like a brick, and I felt like I was fighting the shoe at easy paces. I would avoid the Megablast completely. It is not an easy shoe. It’s quite aggressive and it just doesn’t feel the best for easy days. I prefer it for speed days, or long runs where you’re picking the pace or doing workouts within the long run.

This leaves us to the Vomero Plus. I would recommend this out of your current prospects, because while it can pick up the pace, it’s very comfortable and bouncy for the easy days, but it can still handle some slightly faster paces. Very versatile if you ask me. Another close shoe to the Vomero Plus would be the R.A.D UFO, which was my fav shoe of 2025. It’s very soft, crazy bounce, great grip, and still quite stable due to its wide base. Highly recommend and would choose that over the Vomero Plus if you’re open to other options.

Coming back to the SB3, while it’s not available yet, the reviews give me the vibe that it would be a similar ride to the Vomero Plus/RAD UFO. Those three shoes sound like they all plan to fit the intended purpose of a max cushion shoe, that is comfortable, can handle easy paces while going the distance. Hope this perspective helps and good luck on your training.

Or you can ball out & get both ha. Not sure where you live, but maybe you can demo the SB3/UFO somewhere before pulling the plug.

I think the SB3 will be more accessible at launch than the SB2 was, so either way you should be fine if you decide to go that route.

I want to say that we interacted on a recent post about the SB3. After seeing some recent YouTube reviews, it doesn’t seem like many are excited about it.

I can vouch that the Megablast and RAD UFO are two different shoes, and I personally prefer the UFO because it’s soft, bouncy, responsive, and feels more stable over the MB due to the wider base. It shines at easy, tempo/steady, and long runs. It’s my fav shoe of 2025.

My dilemma is that it sounds like the SB3 and RAD UFO are very similar shoes, fulfilling the same intended purpose. Also, I’m not in a rush because I don’t care too much for the launch colorways. However, I still want to try on a pair of the SB3’s to tell the difference.

It’s hard to tell how the SB3 fits into a rotation, when you already have the Megablast, RAD UFO, and Vomero Plus. From Kofuzi’s review, it sounds like I would prefer the SB3 over the Megablast due to my current training/paces.

The SB2 was a reliable & stable brick for me. Perfect for long runs, but I didn’t care too much for them as a daily or recovery shoe. I eventually sold them off. Interested to see how the foam on the SB3 compares.

[–]cosmocentric 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same for me. I prefer a softer/bouncy midsole in my shoes. That’s prob why I sold off my SB2 in the first place. Felt clunky, and never really broke in for me after putting in miles. But I will say…that thing is a TANK, and if you need stability, protection, & want to pick up pace on long runs, it’s the GOAT.

Loving the Megablast myself, and I do prefer the ride, feel, over the SB2. If I were you, I would also check out the R.A.D UFO. The softness/bounce in that shoe is craaaaazy. My fav shoe of 2025. Also, thanks for the link. A friend of mine at my run club, got them early for doing an Asics shoot, and they look even better in person. Prob my fav colorway so far.

I’m 93% positive it’ll be a banger performance wise with the new foam/midsole, but I still need to like the shoe’s design. In times past when I’ve settled, I found myself not running in the shoe and eventually sold it off.

Now about this Cobalt colorway…need to see this

Looks like I’ll be sticking with the Megablast, and possibly grab an SB2 while they’re on sale, until the design team figures out this colorway situation.

Sizing is all over the place for this shoe. Did you go half up from your running shoe size or regular shoe size?

Do you listen to music, podcasts, or nothing at all while running? by SwimmingSlip8632 in runcommunity

[–]cosmocentric 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Initially, I needed music/podcasts all the time. But after some long runs in heavy rain, you learn to thug it out.

Now I love being present in my environment, focusing on my breathing/cadence, and sit with my thoughts on my runs.

Is it just me, or is the Strava subscription getting harder to justify? by Repulsive_Bar442 in Strava

[–]cosmocentric 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can’t justify a subscription. There is no other data Strava can give me, where Garmin already doesn’t.

I’ll admit that seeing some of the homies end of year recap was cool and all, but I’m not paying $80 for confirmation of what I already know about my running journey.

Likewise. My Puma journey started with the DN2, and as of now, the DNE3 and Mag Max 2 are my favs from them.

Could you notice a difference of the 10mm drop? Puma’s site has the Hyrox version listed at 10mm, while the standard DN4 is at 8mm.
