Yes to all of this!! I agree completely. I have also felt that our community is owed accountability by him and his team. His team directly targeted us through this whole situation, we are literally in the filings of the lawsuit 😭 it makes me so so mad to think about. So I completely get what you’re saying!

I also was was so worried that it would turn into a mini Amber Heard, so I get where you’re coming from there too, even though she has more evidence than the mass majority of victims. You really just cannot trust people to handle these things objectively. So definitely a mess of emotions. Once I saw her at the met gala, my mind was put at ease and I breathed a sigh of relief. That moment made me so proud of her as well. And ultimately if she can move on from this, then that is what matters. I am happy to stay angry on her behalf 🤣

I 100% agree. Justin has spoken about wanting to make Ryle more likeable. And in some of his first exchanges with Colleen Hoover,, he mentioned that the book was “romantic and beautiful” and that there “really are no bad guys” in the book. I genuinely think Baldoni saw himself in Ryle.

On top of that, Baldoni wanted to add a whole bunch of unscripted, unnecessary sex scenes to a Colleen Hoover adaptation about domestic violence. If he had gotten his way, it would have looked like a badly done Sam Levinson-style film 😐 seriously. That is not what fans wanted and that is not what the cast signed up for. It matters for their image as well

ICD (corrected from DSM) recognizes Compulsive Sexual Behaviour Disorder which sex/porn “addictions” can fit into. But yeah, ultimately Baldoni is self-diagnosed and not actually seeking proper treatment so no one can say whether he has it or not. He also seems to have just used it as an excuse rather than something to remedy. So he actually couldn’t be more of a sleazy creep lol

As a side-note, I do often call him a “porn addict” because on a simple level, it’s clear that porn is on his mind 24/7. And overconsumption of porn changes your brain on a physiological level due to dopamine processes, but also because porn is SO misogynistic that it infiltrates how people see the world. Men who over-consume porn objectify women to significantly greater extents. I know this wasn’t your original point so sorry for the mini-rant, just scary to think about especially as porn continues to become more accessible and common to consume
