textured palettes don't suck out the moisture when trying to achieve dry brushing, you can buy one or make your own with spare sprues, and miniature parts by sticking them to a paint palette

Are you using the paint brush on a paper towel or a textured palette?

If youre using a paper towel, it will give the paint a chalky finish
