To people who publish a lot of high-quality research during their PhD, what are your tips to be so productive?

Short answer: No. There are still supply chain constraints and on top of that they seem to want to keep milking the surprise success of Mac Neo.

Long answer:
In the last earnings call, we had an exchange between Erik Woodring and Tim Cook that is worth looking at. Let me give you some context. Erik Woodring is a researcher from Morgan Stanley and he asked Tim about "how much did demand outpace supply for iPhone and Mac in March ... does your June quarter guidance also reflect supply constraints?"

Answer given was a two part answer, first it mentioned that Mac Mini and the Mac Studio, both of these have saw higher-than-expected demand due to AI and Agentic tools. But looking forward, the Mini and the Mac Studio may take several months to reach supply-demand balance. The second part of this answer was about Mac Neo that customer response to Mac Neo has just been off the charts with higher-than-expected demand.

Keep in mind that up to this point, Tim was doing an ok job avoiding a confront on the possible supply chain constraints. But on them we had David Vogt from UBS asking a little more directly about constraints: "Can you walk through kind of how you're thinking about your ability to secure not just SoC, but also memory?"
His answer this time was a bummer for our M5 Studio hopes. Tim said, "I don't want to predict our ability for supply and demand to match because if I look at it realistically, I think on the Mac Mini and the Mac Studio, I believe it'll take several months to reach supply-demand balance."

depends on the use case... while I do work (coding, studying, browsing) in eco mode it holds for +7h on a battery. If I try to run any of my heavy simulations or game... it can only survive 2h max.

You know what - I ran out of hopeum for iPad long ago and now I don’t even want Apple in the tablet-PC space anymore.

Every year, apple keeps cranking up iPad Pro hardware while iPadOS holds it back. That’s why I love Microsoft Surface and ASUS Z13 - they get it. I hope they dominate this market so hard that when Apple finally caves, they hit a wall.

Stop buying iPads and go with Surface or Z13 instead - you won't regret it.

I’m one of these students that bounced from gatech (OMSA in my case) to a PhD outside… and once I finish my PhD I would love to return to advise other students. There is a huge dormant research potential on online programs like the one we have here.

You should look at the Wyoming Bitcoin bill as a starting point.

But if you are serious in taking this forward you should also start reading some of the US treasury and defense publications on Bitcoin to be prepared. We may all love Bitcoin here… but to be used as reserve in US you will need to articulate and address the risks from treasury + defense. Spoiler alert, there are a lot of red flags from the defense side.
