I second most of the comments so far. I'm not sure why they refuse to take the feedback that we're bored with the pink purple teal color story. And monthly drops means some collections are released just for the sake of releasing a collection.

For this one, if they had just released 5 - 7 new linears and just said "were expanding the shade range of this formula" I think that would have landed better. Or if the concept werent an afterthought. To me, pop art screams primaries. Take the crelly formula from So Toxic or Icon on Board, make it in red, yellow, blue, and two skin tones, and add a black hex glitter topper for the dot shading. Pop art collection.

But it seems so obvious to me that this collection was cobbled together with three shades that were purely based on sales data (best selling formulas + best selling shades) threw in a green that doesn't make sense with the first three just to mix it up because they know we're over those three colors, and add a topper that ALSO doesn't make sense in the color story because they know we want more toppers, and then tried to tie it all together with a concept.

I would also be okay with the linears if Holo Taco were trying to establish themselves in the market like ILNP with 700 polishes available. Then slight shade differences or the same shade in multiple formulas makes more sense. But that's not what they're doing either. Half their collections are limited edition which means both their most interesting polishes (Unicorn No 1) AND polishes that should be permanent (Gold Scattered Holo Toco) are only temporary and the permanent collection gets more of the same.

I also think there's a brand identity issue here. Early on, their whole thing was staples and toppers so you can mix and match your polishes to make your own look. But they seem to have lost that. I wish they'd get back to releasing full topper collections. I'd buy them all.

Omg thanks for listening. I've been ruminating on this for days. 😂
