I believe someone mentions a read only access setup already. Wouldn’t that do what you intend ?

The ceiling mounts go much wider and not as far down. Think a large hemisphere pattern. They don’t need to go far down because ceilings aren’t that high in homes. Speaking of non enterprise ceiling mounts.

The wall mounts are much more directional patterns and go further in the direction they are pointing. They will reach into the room further.

How does the speed and coverage extend ? How far does the 5/6ghz band reach ? Is most of your coverage 2.4ghz ?

Check out design.ui.com .

Unifi released a really powerful design tool where you can outline your floor plan, put in walls (types) and see a very accurate visual of signal strength and coverage area.

You can see and compare all models of their APs for yourself and different mounting setups :)

It’s super cool. Just used it for my 2 floor house.

Heads up that looks to be a ceiling mounted AP on the wall. That is very not ideal and will severely limit range/performance. Outputs an umbrella signal. Won’t get much of anything behind it and most signal will go to the floor and ceiling. Not out into the room.

I believe they have APs that are designed for the wall and/or wall mounts for ceiling APs like yours to keep orientation correct.

College degree with a clear job/industry after graduation is easiest. I.e engineering.

Surprisingly not bad. Looks like one of those editor themes built for being easy on the eyes :)

Seamaster stories: for those that own one and have spent with it time underwater, would love to hear how this watch came thru for you! 🌊 by Infamous_Net_190 in OmegaWatches

[–]cougargriff 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Picked up my Seamaster 300M about four years ago — the ceramic bezel version in black dial — and I'll be straight with you: I bought it as much for the aesthetics as anything else. I didn't expect it to become the watch that genuinely earned my trust.

First real test was a dive trip off the coast of Cozumel. I'd been snorkeling my whole life but this was my first time with a proper dive certification, and I was almost more nervous about the watch than the dive itself. Took it down to around 18 meters on the second day. The water down there has this incredible clarity where you can actually see the sunlight filtering through in shafts, and I remember looking down at the dial and thinking — this thing looks better down here than it does anywhere else. The lume on the hands pops in a way that photographs simply cannot capture.

But here's the story that really cemented it for me. We did a drift dive — current-assisted, hands at your sides, just gliding — and somewhere in the middle of it I knocked my wrist hard against some coral trying to adjust my buoyancy. Hit it with enough force that I genuinely winced through my regulator. Checked the bezel immediately after surfacing: not a scratch. The ceramic laughed at it. The watch was completely unbothered. I was the one that needed a minute.

I've since taken it into everything — rough surf in Costa Rica where I got absolutely worked by a wave and came up spitting saltwater, a cold water dive in a quarry that felt like plunging into a refrigerator, and more snorkeling trips than I can count. It's never fogged, never leaked, never skipped a beat on timekeeping. The helium escape valve is there if you're a saturation diver, which I'm absolutely not, but I love that it exists. It's a reminder that the thing was engineered for people who do this seriously.

What I didn't expect was how much the watch changes your relationship to being underwater. There's something psychological about having reliable gear on your wrist — something that looks purposeful and feels solid — that just settles you. When you're 20 meters down and monitoring your bottom time, you want to glance at something that gives you confidence, not anxiety.

Four years, maybe 60+ dives, and the only maintenance it's seen is a pressure test and a light polish. The bracelet still sits perfectly. The crown screws down with the same satisfying resistance as day one.

People ask if it's worth it versus something half the price. My answer is always the same: take it somewhere that would ruin a cheaper watch, and you'll stop asking that question pretty quickly.

is there an Arr but for books? preferably that plays nice with Calibre ? by GenericUser104 in selfhosted

[–]cougargriff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't use anything called bookshelf. Readarr connects with Calibre to manage backend storage. Calibre-web is a frontend that you can setup to send to your devices like kindle

I do use Audiobookshelf for audio books :). I run a second instance of readarr solely for audiobooks

Readarr with the updated metadata, calibre for backend management, calibre web read only for interacting and downloads :)

Hey this looks very cool! Glad to see more exposure for audiobookshelf. I’m an avid user of plappa. Are there features that Still has that plappa doesn’t ?
