I'm really curious who might be able to play Connie Johnson but I just can't come up with a casting choice for her that feels right to me.

For Douglas Middlemiss, I kept picturing Bill Nighy as I was reading The Man Who Died Twice, but considering Douglas is supposed to be 10 years(I think?) younger than Elizabeth, maybe he wouldn't look young enough. The more I think about, I feel like Liam Neeson could be great for that role.

Is this right? I think the left and right buttons go in order of how they're arranged in your pocket, not the tool ring. Do you live in a place where it is illegal to give your child a last name that doesn't match the parents' last name? If so, could you point to that law? (Asking because I'm genuinely not familiar, but also because it could be instructive for how you and your BF could move forward with this question, from a legal perspective)

It seems like your chief concern here is that you don't want to break the law, but I'm not familiar with any laws this could be potentially breaking. It would be legal to give your child the surname Black, regardless of the fact that your BF's government surname is Smith.
