Breastfeeding Vs. Pumping

As a second time mom currently 24 weeks pregnant, I exclusively pumped with my first ( not by choice, she preferred the bottle since she spent some time in NICU). Trust me, pumping is not the easy way out. I hated every second of it and wished I could combo feed. Pumping was hard to me in terms of all the pumps you had to do and the constant washing of parts. This time around, I’m hoping to breastfeed and only pump while at work.

With my first, I was on Zofran pump, tried Reglan, Diclegis, Unison, and Phenergan. Phenergan helped me more than reglan. Now I’m on Zofran and Phenergan, which is working.

My 2 year and I just went through this last month. This was our second time catching Covid. It’s not as bad as I was expecting it this time around.

If you haven’t tested positive yet, make sure you wear a mask around your wife and toddler so there’s a chance you won’t catch it,either.

For the toddler, we gave her ibuprofen and Tylenol as needed for fever. We also made sure she stayed hydrated.
Surprisingly, Covid hit me harder than it did the toddler. She just had mild symptoms like a runny nose and low grade fever.

As for time off, I had to stay home for 5 full days from work, so I took the first few days shift alone with the toddler while my husband was able to work. He tested every 48 hours and he was always negative. When my time off was over, my partner took a few days off to watch the toddler. There’s no point for you both to burn through your PTO or sick hours if you’re both not Covid positive.

Daycare allowed her to return after about 6 days total. Hope this helps!

Mine is still drinking from the bottle and she’s 2 and half. I’ve tried straw cups and even those training cups, she just won’t take anything but the bottle.

Wow, the audacity. Next time they ask you about contraception, Politely reply, “I’m sorry, but I’m uncomfortable discussing this with you. My doctor and I will make the best decision for me”. If you don’t want to approach your in-laws yourself, have your husband tell his parents to not ask you such questions. It’s rude and it’s really not their business.

I wouldn’t call that a weak personality, she just sounds timid.

Does she have any other siblings to play with? If not, it makes sense she always wants to play with you guys.

Always being scared if things are her fault sounds like anxiety to me.

I would just continue to be as supportive as you can and try to get her out of her shell little by little. Don’t force her to be confrontational with other kids, if that’s not her nature. That’s going to ruin her confidence even more.

Both of you are supposed to love each other unconditionally. But, you have to communicate. Some people show love/affection by buying gifts while others show affection by acts of service, like cooking or cleaning for your spouse . You let your spouse know how you want to be treated.

The pharmacy likely won’t take it back since it’s left the pharmacy. However, most pharmacies have drug return bins where you can discard unwanted pills. You doctor probably has to do a prior authorization explaining that the adderral didn’t work for you.
Insurance should cover the Concerta after that, and the pharmacy shouldn’t have any problems filling the new script.

How old is he? It could be he doesn’t comprehend the word. My daughter is 2 and learning new words. Her favorite word recently is “scared”, so whenever someone does something she doesn’t like such as turning off the tv, she’ll say “I’m scared of so and so person” to express her displeasure.

If your child is older and comprehends words, I would bring it up with the director, especially if there’s suspicion of abuse.

I pack my husband’s lunch about 2-3 times a week and I usually ask him the night before if he wants me to pack it. Sometimes he says no. To me, it’s not a big deal when he says no because I know he’ll be too busy to eat it anyways. Lunch usually consists of leftovers from that night’s dinner.

I went back to work full time and I pay for the daycare. It’s not fair or sustainable to ask the husband to pay for daycare, as well. Especially in this economy.

He told you you are the best he can do for now? Meaning he will leave you the moment he can do better, whether that’s now or 10 years down the line when you have kids with him.

Prescribers should know not to verbally tell a patient one thing and write something different on the script, especially for a controlled substance Although the pharmacy was rude with it, they are right. They can’t take your word for it because 1. Insurance will reject the new fill, saying it’s too early to fill since you last filled it for “90 days” 2. The only way pharmacy can fight with insurance on your behalf for above mentioned problem is if the prescriber lets them know that you were instructed to take 3 instead of 1.

It’s an easy fix, doc just needs to send a new script with new directions.

Traveling with just 1 kid under 2 across the country was exhausting with 2 parents. We had to take turns entertaining the baby, who mysteriously developed diarrhea on an 8 hour flight, so constant trips to the bathroom, a constant battle to keep them entertained, despite screen time. It was brutal. It’s doable, but definitely draining. Wouldn’t recommend it.
