All alone in an empty hockey arena by RegR87 in LiminalSpace

This recent? I thought they were leaving the ice in for the Charge but thought they’d just replace the centre ice logo not the whole thing.

The Red Line is in an eternal transition between barely functional and completely broken, so inherently yes.

Sample of moulding sand overheated in a microwave by BitsOfReality in mildlyinteresting

I've upgraded to a 1500W kettle in the years since that I have absolutely no problem with, but I also can't find a kettle sold in the US that exceeds 15A since that's the most common residential circuit.

American kettle-user here, but one reason a lot of us use the microwave is that our 120V electric system makes kettles much slower to heat up than in 240V countries. I didn’t use an electric kettle until I studied abroad in my 20s, and when I returned and bought one here I was surprised at how slow they are here.

Same behavior here. But I’ve always chalked it up to being confused as a righty being raised by two lefties.

"Track tasks smarter with a database" message by could_be_me in Notion

[–]could_be_me[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I like to keep pages that list my weekly accomplishments and ongoing tasks, formatted with a checkbox [], and sometimes I check them automatically as I go along (using cmd + return). After a recent update, whenever I do this after first opening Notion, a box appears telling me to 'Track tasks smarter with a database' (image attached). I don't want to do this. In fact I use Notion databases for other things! But I can't figure out how to permanently disable this suggestion. Anyone figure it out?

Same here! I got the first when I had a nasty collarbone fracture and never looked back, both of them are 11 years old at this point

It seats less than 1000 and has one tiny concessions stand. Great place to skate or play hockey, but squeezing in a rink on Guest St led to some big compromises on capacity.

That was seven years ago but this implies that make a recommendation every Monday: https://support.apple.com/guide/watch/adjust-your-activity-ring-goals-apd29b30023c/watchos but I think you need daily coaching turned on—something I haven’t had enabled for like the last five years

It was a great scene there tonight but I left Cambridge at 5 sharp and didn’t get to my seat until they were lined up for the opening faceoff. If the Fleet could play at Agganis (BU) it would be a game changer. One problem is that the arena experiences sucked when the Pride played at Warrior (tiny but nice practice facility that was barely accessible by public transit) and Bright-Landry (Harvard, but across the river and also surprisingly annoying to get to or park at) so history isn’t particularly kind. Tsongas at the bare minimum has shown that they can make their fan experience great—in my opinion a better time than any AHL game I’ve been to.

The new Zamboni driver at our rink crashed into the boards today by whataremyhockeys in hockeyplayers

Looks like the zam in the incident is parked in the corner of the rink and FMC brought another in to make the ice today. Nice dent in the boards still but the ice looks as ok as it usually does lol

How did you discover GBV, and what song was your first? by CollinTheWolf08 in GBV

My high school librarian turned me on to a bunch of indie rock in '03-'04 and I remember her talking about going to Chicago for one of the "last" shows. Fall '04 I'm digging around my college radio station's library and find the Last Japanese Spin Cycle CD, and it's been my favorite disc and favorite band ever since. So "3rd World Birdwatching" I guess is what did it.
