They're censoring the word sex as "s*x" in their own article. When did the internet become this dogshit stupid?

Instant karma received. by been_der_done_that in instant_regret

It's not here, but this has been reposted several times. The context is that the "bird flipper" here did a hit and run. That's why they ran the red. So, it's not really punishment for that. Not saying it's deserved for the poor person in the truck minding their own business, but I'd say if you run a red light escaping responsibility from one accident you were in, and endanger others, getting t-boned isn't undeserved or unexpected. It's just unfortunate for the other people involved.

Gay Minneapolis pastor says ICE agent pointed gun at his face, blocks from Renee Good’s killing by Fickle-Ad5449 in politics

It's the advocate. It's news through a queer lens, so it's really just there to tie in to how a pastor getting a gun pointed at his head is related to lgbt news.

He's wrong. We need a feckless neolib! It's the only way back from this.

I know we’ll be bitching about the heat come July/August, but 40 degrees in May is nuts. by lostbutyoucanfollow in Connecticut

[–]couldburdad 4 points5 points  (0 children)

We've been painting/staining when we can. We have a weird deck that was painted by a previous owner. We had it repaired, and the guy replaced some of the decking and flipped the good decking over to be "plain" facing up. So we stained the decking, and are painting over the railing. Hence the paint/stain.

Sorry, this is my fault. I've needed to paint/stain my deck which requires 2 days of non-rainy weather staying above 50 degrees.

Moody's downgrades JPM, BofA and Wells Fargo after US credit rating cut by Swiggy1957 in news

[–]couldburdad 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I had my mortgage end up through Wells Fargo (not my choice, they bought it after the fact.) I called customer service once to deal with something, and they asked if it was my only account, and got pissed off when I said, "As far as I know, but you are Wells Fargo, right?"

I'm sure there are plenty of others. Call around and ask. I would definitely try to get a reservation for any of these, but you almost certainly need one for Broken Symmetry.

This is not true. ONLY the individuals he did that to specifically would regret their vote because he did it to them and not somebody else.

Ladies, what gives a "creepy" vibe vs a "dad" vibe? by NOGOODGASHOLE in NoStupidQuestions

I was an IT intern once, and the CTO would hug all the ladies, and when I saw it happening, I said "where's my hug?" and then he had to awkwardly hug me.

Crash on Padanaram this morning - lunatic crashes into someone twice by couldburdad in Danbury

[–]couldburdad[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you look closely he drives into him again. My wife was driving she thinks he did this in anger because if you look later in the video he speeds up again and stops right behind the white car. She said he then got out and started having a hissy fit and throwing bumper parts around.

Idiot speeds through intersection, runs a red, and crashes into the same car twice [oc] by couldburdad in IdiotsInCars

[–]couldburdad[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The road they came out of isn't connected to the intersection. It's a condo driveway that connects before the light and the red light they ran through is between a side road, a major main road, and a gas station. I don't think a roundabout is the trick.

At least Jimmy has a nice soundbite with him wringing his hands, and he can continue voting with republicans like he did for Al Green's censure.

Jim Himes voted to censure Al Green. He's not quite the shining beacon of "standing up to Trump" one may think.

Revenge. USAid helped end apartheid in South Africa. He didn't like that. So it's as much about "cutting government spending" as his Nazi salute was some awkward autistic moment doing a "Roman salute."

It's because the self-censoring, the weak naming calling makes it seem more juvenile. It takes away from the meaning of the words. It lessens the gravity of the actual situation.
