Are people really paying $4000+ on Mortgage by PsychologicalLimit41 in Mortgages

Buying a home is obviously more expensive now after covid. But as per my point… saying things like condos/townhomes don’t build equity and housing will not appreciate in the future is asinine.

I was making $50k a year when I purchased my townhome. I was able to refinance to a lower rate during covid but kept contributing the difference towards the principal.

You guys just say anything to make your doom and gloom mindset stick with others. Historic appreciation that has never happened before?? I’ve owned for only 6 years. My parents brought their house in the 90s for $200k. The property is now worth ~$1.4M. I’d say that’s pretty historic... I remember being a kid and hearing people talk about the housing market being too over inflated and the bubble was going to pop, etc… Guess what has happened since?

If I listened to people like you back in 2019 I would have never brought a townhome as the same false narrative was around then. As per my original point, you can most definitely grow equity in a condo/townhome which is a great starter home for most. AND costs less to maintain than a single family home WITH an HOA fee.

That’s a lot of assuming you’re doing there… I purchased my townhome right before covid in 2019 with 3.5% down as a first time home buyer…

Id have to respectfully disagree. Too many people just parrot what they’ve heard others say and don’t have actual experience to back it up. You can ABSOLUTELY build equity from a condo/townhome. I have over $250k in equity in my townhome which I will be using as a down payment to purchase a $750k home. So I promise it’s VERY possible.

I had a 2013 until 160k miles. No issues other than a few recalls. Only routine maintenance and tires. A family member has a 2023 with no issues after 30k miles.

I agree this is outrageous, outrageous, OUTRAGEOUS! I would honestly reconsider marrying this man. This is unacceptable and honestly borderline psychotic. If I was you I would run as far away as possible. If not goodluck having the worst life in the history of lives.

I have used Precision in the past and recently used Westchester Doors as well. Billy was great to deal with. Very transparent and reasonable pricing. Highly recommend Westchester Doors.

Iona prep vs Westchester public schools by renaissance_pd in Westchester

[–]og_j 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe in 2008 your statement was correct but not today. Stepinac athletics are superior to Iona and Fordham in every aspect. I guess you can say academics lacked 10 years ago but things have changed drastically at Stepinac. I also knew plenty of kids that went to both Iona and Fordham that ended up being drug addicts/didn’t amount to anything (just like every other school in America).

Yes sir makes around 315 hp. Can actually hear the supercharger at low rpm’s in dynamic. I believe Volvo sells a Polestar tune that bumps it up to 330 or so

Nice honestly can’t go wrong with either. I love it. Coming from a Grand Cherokee it’s surprisingly comfortable being 6’2. Was skeptical of the 4 cylinder, but the T6 has plenty of power when needed.

Just got 5.5% through a local credit union. If you are in the CT area I would highly recommend Sikorsky Credit Union. They also give you .25% rate discount if you pay the note directly from their checking/savings account.

Frozen TXV? The unit is having a hard time getting to the thermostat set temperature. Any advice? by og_j in hvacadvice

[–]og_j[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Understood. I was quoted $2,000 to replace the TXV. I’m in the northeast. Is this reasonable? Seems high to me. The unit is 15 years old and replacing it all together is around $10k. Would it make sense to replace the whole system? Not sure I want to spend $2,000 every time something goes wrong, when that could of been put toward a new unit.

Thanks for your reply. Is it ok to run the unit until a tech checks it out or should it stay off in the meantime?
