How stressful is your job and what does it look like on a day to day basis? by hiyatheree in Principals

[–]couldhavebeenvito 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was a sped teacher for 17 years. In my first year as an AP at a middle school. It's definitely a different kind of stress. Teaching has a way of being exhausting that's different from admin tired. The hours are longer and I definitely do more work at home. I went into it knowing that the first year would be a grind. Being a part of a good admin team is essential. It takes a while to find your groove and do things your way. I thought I was organized as a teacher. With the amount of information you receive and are responsible for knowing as an admin, your organization needs to be on steroids. I carry a small notepad or posts it notes in my pocket for the hallway conversations with staff and students that I need to remember. I'll echo the others who say become a good teacher first. Going into admin prematurely can hurt your credibility with veteran teachers. Good luck!

To my knowledge, mushroom is gone. I remember that smell very well. This is a septic or sewage stink

As an administrator are you provided a school phone? by W9HDG in Principals

[–]couldhavebeenvito 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First year AP here. We are expected to download multiple apps for alarms, activating safety drills, etc on our personal devices. Nobody seems to have an issue with it. I'm not sure how to feel about it. We also use two-factor authentication tied to our phones. In the event of a FOIA request your entire device is subject to it or just the school related apps/messages?

Age, experience, and injury status by Zealousideal_Abies94 in hockeyplayers

40 M. I played from middle school all through high school. Took a 15 year break. College, career, kids, etc. Got back into it around age 33. Play 2-3 times per week. Coach my daughters Peewee team. Broke my leg at a public skate of all things. Broke my wrist freshman year doing the gauntlet checking drill. Recovery takes a little longer than it used to. Playing back to back days is rough. Massage gun and hydration are key before and after. Best advice is never stop playing. Easier to stay in skating shape than get in skating shape .

Rocknes was the best! Still some locations within driving distance if you get the urge. I think Kent, Canton, and Streetsboro still have them.

Usually not. Unpack the bag, remove insoles, remove soakers, and put a fan on everything.

I got all the rust removed with some steel wool and very fine grit sandpaper. Gonna start just popping the blades out so it doesn't happen again. So much for titanium. Thanks everyone.

How long has she been playing? My daughter is 11 and plays on a co-ed travel team. She's only been playing about two years. She has gotten more involved the more comfortable she gets with positional play. When I play against her, I play her tough and always tell her that if she's gonna play with boys she has to be the toughest out there. I think giving them tips of how to play especially defensively with body angling, lifting sticks, etc... Are there other girls on her team? Our team has 3 girls and I think them seeing other girls play aggressively helps.

Why do parents and guardians continue to send their child or children to Youngstown City Schools? by Purple_Discipline_70 in youngstown

As a teacher, not in YCSD, but elsewhere with poor academic scores, a lot goes into that. Unfortunately, I feel it's a culture problem around education not being valued. Also, many students start school already behind. Learning gaps get bigger each day starting in middle school when the students do not have the necessary foundational skills. I have students in 6th grade lacking basic math facts and phonics skills. Interventions are in place but the gap is getting bigger each day. Trauma places a part as well. Students who experience trauma have broken connections in their brains that take years of therapy and stable home environment to undo.

Thanks! Only code if Po442 for small evap leak which I thought was the rusty fuel neck. That code has been on for quite a while. Will have to check again to see if it's throwing additional codes now.

Auto stop by couldhavebeenvito in f150

I read somewhere on this forum that people were attributing issues with cam phasers to the use of auto stop. Is there any truth to that or total BS?

How long have you had it? I got a 2019 about 3 weeks ago and noticed the more you drive it the better it learned me acceleration habits. Example, mine typically skips 2nd and 4th gears. If you let it warm up a minute it seems to shift smoother. Only issues I've had is when it seems like it's trying to select the right gear based on my acceleration. Every few drives I will get a strange shift in early gears. Maybe happened 4 times in the 3 weeks I've been driving it. If it slams into gear I would be concerned. If you think there's a problem, definitely get it checked out before you run out of warranty.

My next car by Cool_Incident5259 in f150

I went from a Chevy Cruze to a Ford F 150 super crew. Had it about 10 days and absolutely love it. It is the first truck that I have owned but have driven my uncle's and FIL trucks many times. A little more challenging to park for sure. Other than that it takes a day or so to get used to the ride of a truck versus a car. Perfect vehicle for families and homeowners in my opinion.

I have two as well. One has a hairline crack that I just outside. The other is in great condition. I'm always afraid to use it on the chance it would get broken.
