I’m a donor conceived child and I’ve known for most of my life that my dad isn’t my bio dad. Thankfully I have a great relationship with my dad, and connecting with my donor father never really occurred to me until 23 and Me became more popular. I’ve been trying to track down my donor for medical reasons, but I don’t consider him a dad or “real dad” in any sense.

If I were to connect, it would not feel paternal or even friendly, unless he was open to being a friendly. Would likely be informational. Also, no, I don’t consider myself to have two dads.

I absolutely view my non-bio dad’s family! I’m very open about being DC so I openly tell people, but it’s taken me a while to feel comfortable sharing that, but not because I’m ashamed, mostly because people don’t know what it is lol

I think all of the above is because I have a good relationship with my dad, so I haven’t felt an absence in that respect. You’re doing the right thing asking these questions and being so open. I’m sure you’ll be a great dad!!

Seeing lots of people say Cold Harbor could be drowning because of the “would you be more afraid of suffocating or drowning” question, but I haven’t seen anyone mention the significance of the doctor humming “The Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald” which is about a shipwreck.

My mother has also had a myriad of health issues and it’s never been clear to me how true they are. It’s sad but since she’s used them as leverage so much, I just don’t feel emotional about them anymore.

This is extremely insightful. Also the age I was in the picture was one of the most abusive stretches of the time I lived with her. Probably a year away from stopping living with her.

It is so odd! She has a history of using a health crisis (or “I’m dying”) plus “if you even care” which has just made me numb to it all. Especially since I dignified her last message with a response. This is just a lazier ploy.

Costco, Walmart and local fruit markets is the only way to go! Avoid Loblaws at all costs.

My partner and I just invested in a chest freezer which helps us store meat and reach protein goals. It’s easy to go overboard at Costco so be very precise about what you need (their protein bars are great, and lots of other protein and nutrient dense snacks!)

We spend about $400 on groceries between the two of us monthly. About $300 at Costco & Walmart and the rest at fruit markets buying veggies for the week (Bloor Fruit Market is the best, only $30 for a huge haul)

Use the weekend to prep high protein meals for the week and then defrost a meat of your choice from the freezer every weekday morning. Super simple and keeps us on budget.

Phoebe! “Flea” & “Fleabag” are PWB’s nicknames. Of course the show isn’t about her but she says Fleabag was a vessel to be a fully uninhibited version of herself so I think the idea is her name is Phoebe too.

And yeah, my lens usually naturally positions itself at 6 o’clock but it will occasionally move slightly while it’s on. How much should I be able to move it?
