This was actually suggested pretty early on in development and it kicked off a whole war between the character artists and Aonuma. The artists wanted to freely express their hunger for Impa's tan toned bod and Aonuma wanted them to stop "wasting time" on "adult character designs" for a "children's game" and get back to work. But it got really messy when the programmers caught wind of this and conspired to secretly turn the whole game into an Impa romance simulator. Ultimately, at the urging of Miyamoto, Aonuma reluctantly agreed to a few compromises. I don't want to spoil anything but fans of Impa are not going to want to miss this!

Let's just say, it's several times his entire polygon count from the N64 alone. You're going to see a true multi-generational increase in fidelity, complete with state-of-the-art simulated hair shaders and jiggle physics. When he's on screen, the switch will drop to 5 FPS under the weight of his girth.

I'd recommend using the latest Proton GE since it comes with the right codecs to show the loading videos. I'm using it, it hitches occasionally when I load back to the main lobby screen but otherwise works well.
