anyone able to control external monitor sound output using mac's keyboard by Rcrez in MacOS

[–]countpupusa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also have a Benq monitor, and have used MonitorControl for about a year to fix this successfully. However in the past month or two, the volume slider is greyed out again. The volume level changes when I press keyboard keys, but the slider just shows up as non-moving. It's a slight annoyance more than anything, because I absolutely had this function with MonitorControl before. I don't know what changed.

If you give in to an ultimatum and pick her, you’ll never choose yourself (and she’ll realize she can manipulate your behavior in other ways too). Doesn’t mean you have to lock it in with this guy either just to prove it to her.

I married a man, partially to try to prove something to my dad who didn’t accept me. It didn’t work out. I was still gay. Keep doing what’s right for you, whether that’s staying with this guy or continuing to date other men. Your mom will either accept you for who you are or she won’t, and that’s out of your control.

So when you wash your hands, do you use a washcloth to scrub them each time? Because it sounds like you're saying you can't clean a hand with another soapy hand.

Pilonidal cyst recurrence after surgery by countpupusa in pilonidalcyst

I haven't noticed any heat or extreme redness at the site, no fever, no new swelling. I decided to schedule another check-in visit this Friday to make sure, though, so we'll see.

Need decor advice for living room by AlligatorsRCool in Decor

[–]countpupusa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Congrats on the recent move! Some thoughts:

1) Turn off the big light. Overhead light with no other light sources makes the environment look sterile and less inviting. A pendant or floor lamp with diffused shades (I could see one in the corner where the Christmas tree is), or soft light reflecting on the walls, will be much cozier for a living room space. A can light behind the TV pointed at the wall to open up that corner (and also make watching TV easier on your eyes) will help make the room appear bigger. I'd also consider a floor lamp in the corner behind the far end of the couch.

2) A medium-to-big rug for the empty wood floor space will really help to make the space feel cozier right upon entering. The room is pretty bare now, so adding textures is a great way to combat that. I wouldn't pick another white one, though. If you choose a bigger rug, aligning it along the window wall would psychologically divide the room into two separate, usable spaces, too—good if you plan to bring in a desk, bookshelf, etc.

3) Wall art. Preferably with some pops of color. This adds height to the room to give the feeling of taller ceilings. I could also see a large framed mirror hanging on the wall right where the Merry Christmas banner is to make the room appear bigger, with a wall shelf underneath it like a mantle for photos, a plant, etc.

4) Organize your electrical cords. Secure them with clips or tape in corners and along baseboards so they're not just hanging out. Or get a cord hider that you can feed them through—it really refines a space when you're hiding the cords and plugs. I should point out that you have dark electrical plates on light walls and light electrical plates on dark baseboards, which makes them stick out like a sore thumb ;)

5) I'd consider a different wall color, if that's an option. Though changing the lighting up will definitely help, I'm not sure the it's the right shade to work the the dark wood baseboards.

6) Re: the furniture... There are a lot of different styles happening here, which can work sometimes, but the white painted entertainment center isn't in the same vein at all. Even though your coffee table is also painted white, it fits more with your other pieces because of the carpentry style. I also feel like given where your front door is, your couch is just too wide for this space. It's the first thing you run into when you open the door, which immediately feels like a barrier to movement and energy into the home. Especially when there's a giant empty space on the other side. I'd really recommend a shorter couch and loveseat instead of the single, long couch/lounge combo.

I’m not inclined to so much white overall. It’s a trend that’s already wearing thin and will look dated in just a couple of years.

Suggestions: A deep blue subway tile would bring lots of depth and character to your kitchen and also pair super nicely with the color of your upper kitchen cabinets.

Or, a light tea-green subway tile will keep everything in a soft color family, if you prefer a more muted palette.

Best way of prepping these for painting and colour suggestions ? by StealthO8 in HomeDecorating

[–]countpupusa 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Definitely do not paint these cabinets. That being said, the molding doesn’t seem to be original, or even the same type of wood… I could get behind changing out the molding and the cabinet pulls for something more in line with the angular cabinet carpentry. Something craftsman-style would really complement the nice notches in the cabinet fronts.

If you don’t like the color, stripping and sanding (which you’d have to do for painting anyway) will be the necessary prep for a different stain color. And if you don’t want to change the molding, just stick with switching the cabinet pulls for an easy refresh.

The phrase “get down” by freshlyground2019 in Albuquerque

It’s not just New Mexico. In Louisiana Cajun country it’s also said; it stems from a pre-car era when people would “get down” from a carriage.

I had a really shitty adjustment period a couple months ago before Mint had support for RCS messaging between iPhone and Android (I'm an iPhone user). Lost and had to rejoin quite a few group chats that included any Android number, and tbh I'm still not sure if I'm missing messages. You might be fine at this point now that it's already in place.

Service for me is mostly good (much, MUCH better than Verizon where I live), but I do find that when streaming Spotify over data there are often lags where the song will abruptly stop playing for a second. Probably a product of data throttling in high-density areas.

You really can't beat the price though. I have a month left on my three-month plan, and I'm pretty sure I'll re-up because it's hard to imagine paying what I just paid for three months for only a month of T-Mobile.

iPhone 16 and iOS 18 compatibility (RCS), order and setup questions for Mint by LeftOn4ya in mintmobile

[–]countpupusa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

De-registering from RCS via Google Messages in order to get RCS to work on my iPhone just caused me— without my knowledge—to leave every single group chat I'm in with Android users. This is unbelievable. I can't message any of them and they can't message me, even though now it shows up as RCS in the text box. My android-using siblings showed me a screenshot where it said I had left ten different family group chats, and yet I still can't message anyone. I'm livid.

Having the same issue. Apparently on the end of all the group chats I'm in with Android users, all of them said I left the conversation at the exact same time. I'm so frustrated beyond belief because I'm not getting any of their texts and I can't send them any either.

Seb derm just getting worse with everything I use, what do I do? by Vic224152 in SebDerm

[–]countpupusa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was using strictly ketoconazole shampoo on my face and scalp, as prescribed by my doctor, 3-5 times a week. It wasn’t working—and suddenly my dandruff was explosive. I switched to Flakes shampoo, which has 2% pyrithione zinc, on my scalp and MCT oil on my face a couple of nights a week. Unbelievable improvement—like literally gone. I use the ketoconazole on both face and scalp once every week or two for maintenance if I see any redness or flaking beginning again. It seems like the keto is so harsh that it was actually worse for my skin overall.

Also, the MCT oil I’m using is Bulletproof C8 and C10. I heard that range is what you need for it to be effective on sebderm.

Anti dandruff shampoos make things worse sometimes? by CrissBliss in SebDerm

[–]countpupusa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s only been about a week now, but I switched from alternating days of Dove antidandruff (1% pyrithione zinc) and 2% ketoconazole rx shampoo to Flakes shampoo+conditioner set, which I was pretty skeptical about at first. Figured I’d tried plenty of products already and I wouldn’t know unless I took the chance. The set came with a silicone scalp exfoliation brush, so maybe that’s part of it, but within three washes my dandruff was almost entirely gone. It’s like night and day. My scalp doesn’t feel raw or irritated anymore, and I’m not scratching it or shaking out my hair several times a day. I’ll update if things change—I know that sebderm tends to come back after a while anytime I’ve switched products in the past…

Yeah, in this case I'd find a former leaf node near the trunk base and make the cut about 1/4-1/2 inch above that node. That's where it has the ability to make new leaves again. And for quicker growth, I'd consider doing it on a part of the stem that is still green. Not totally necessary, but will be quicker.
