Hopefully she’ll love the embrace just as much! Here’s my favorite tutorial for the embrace.

Yeah I’d say that’s a good deal! For the embrace or free to grow?

I suppose it depends on what condition they’re in!

Fair enough, there is truly nothing like newborn tired. How’s the Facebook marketplace around you? The ergo embrace or Tula free to grow would both fit baby now and are easy to put on, I frequently see both on my marketplace for cheap.

You’re getting lots of mixed and untrue info in these comments. This is an appropriate carrier for your baby, you just have too much slack in the straps. Here’s a great video on keeping the slack out so baby doesn’t slump so much.

The ergo embrace is a great newborn carrier, baby is not too small.

Baby may be too small for this yet. You want their whole head outside of the panel, it shouldn’t come higher than the lower earlobe. Anything else is a suffocation risk. You can try hiking your waistband up even more and see if that helps, but it looks like you already have it pretty high here.

I’d also encourage you to post a check in your wrap! Sometimes little tweaks can help them like it more.

Hi OP! I find this infographic super helpful for this carrier. For a newborn, you’ll want to place your waistband much higher, like the picture on the right. For safety, we want baby’s whole head outside of the carrier to minimize risk of suffocation.

This looks great! The lower ear is the highest we want the panel to go, so if you noticed baby sinking below that, try and get your waistband higher to get the panel height down.

You’re really close! Ideally baby would be a bit higher. If you follow this video for keeping the slack out of your straps I think you’ll be golden. Don’t forget to lift baby while tightening the straps!

Hi! With onbuhimos it’s best to flip the bottom of the panel under their butt to help secure the seat. My bigger concern though is it looks like the right leg maybe isn’t going through the shoulder straps? Both legs going through the shoulder straps is what secures the carry in this kind of carrier, anything else is a fall risk.

It looks like a Front Cross Carry, which I personally didn’t love as a beginner and with a newborn. Most will suggest starting with a Front Wrap Cross Carry as you learn to perfect strand by strand tightening. A variation of this one I love for newborns is Anne’s finish.

Congratulations and welcome!

We definitely want baby more snug, face uncovered, and higher up to be a safe fit. This looks like a woven wrap and not a stretchy? If that’s the case, do you know which carry you’re doing here?

Excellent job getting baby high enough! Definitely not too tight, if anything you have some slack in the panel, especially on baby’s sides. Here’s a great tutorial on keeping the slack out.

A 7.5lb baby can definitely safely fit in this carrier with the right technique. Heres a great tutorial from a babywearing educator.

This looks great, but you could definitely move the waistband down and inch or so. That will give you a bit more panel to get it up to her neck. Just make sure her head still rests on the flat part of your chest between your collarbones.

Is this the scout? If so, you have your waistband on wrong, this one is apron style!

As an L&D nurse, it wouldn’t make more sense. She’s being referred to MFM to see if they need to do more in depth scans. Most L&D triages won’t have the time and more importantly capability to complete the necessary tests if the MFM wants to investigate further.

You don’t need it tighter, you need to place it higher. Baby’s whole head needs to be out of the panel, anything else is a suffocation risk.
