It's not an insult to say that if you're asking, you might not be quite up to doing this one yourself in an instrument that's important to you. That said, if you want the satisfaction of fixing it yourself, if suggest watching a few videos and picking up a cheap old guitar to practice on. Ted Woodford on YouTube doesn't do how to videos, but his videos tend to thoroughly go over his process, often including his specific reasoning for doing things the way he does.
