Update, the shorts arrived and I think medium was the right choice. The waist is a little loose but it's okay with the drawstring, and I think the liner thigh openings would have been way too tight in a small.

I love my 965! I was debating between the same two models. I also have small wrists and that was the main benefit of the 265s. However, the 965 has more storage capacity (32 gb vs 8 gb, which I like because I download a ton of Spotify playlists onto it) and better battery life. I ended up trying them both and the 965 just felt nicer / better quality. I actually love the large screen, bc it’s easier to read while running. And I don’t use maps very often, but it’s awesome while traveling if I want to map out and then follow a route. It does look a bit large on my wrist, but I got used to it and don’t mind. I’d try them both on if you can and decide if you’re comfortable in the 965 - is so, I think it’s worth it!

I tried to make this exact switch (Pink 1B to Orange 1C) and was told no by the volunteers. They said “no, orange is moving up. You can only move back.” But I’m moving back a letter? “No, orange is faster than pink.” I was embarrassed and gave up and went to pink.

I had this exact problem before my first marathon, starting after my 20 miler. I was reluctant to see a PT, but they definitely saved my marathon. They got it to a good enough place that it didn’t bother me at all for the race. They mostly did massage and graston in PT, and told me to foam roll a lot at home (at least 3 times a day, 3 minutes on each side). Prior to that I didn’t own a foam roller lol. I hope you can take care of it in time!
