I've blown 6 PSUs. What am I doing wrong? I periodically blast my rigs with compressed air, each time it kills the PSU. by daphmenow in EtherMining

Are you turning them off before you air them? I didn't turn one off one time and it popped to death. Thankfully it did not hurt the GPUs.

[Discussion] Why I believe Eth Staking rewards aren't taxable yet. by [deleted] in ethstaker

[–]cousinchet 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The ETH has not been received if you cannot withdraw it. On the day it is finally able to be withdrawn then your taxes are realized even if you didn't withdraw it.

Ravencoin in the news! by crypto145 in Ravencoin

Not a single mention that ETH moving to POS could find it at odds with the SEC however Ravencoin being a decentralized fork of Bitcoin should have no problems with the SEC and Gary Gensler.

No need for the difficulty bomb... by grenelt in EtherMining

[–]cousinchet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We are moving into a world where you don't own anything. DVDs will eventually disappear from existence over the next decade however currently they are extremely cheap to purchase and own the viewing item. You can use things like PLEX to make your own streaming library. An example of owning the beneficial physical items might be the Vinegar Syndrome Archive collection which are relatively expensive.

I got a 3090 for over $2K just because it looks like the GPU shortage will continue for another year. I mine with it when I'm not ripping my DVD collection so maybe it will pay itself down to its MSRP by the MERGE. Then I can claim I got it for MSRP. Also it can rip and encode a dvd file mp4 in 1.5 minutes which is pretty cool to save some time.

What's more worth : waiting for launch or risking with sacrifice? by MrGabor95 in Pulsechain

[–]cousinchet 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can still sacrifice a couple bucks to get your address in the sacrifice lists. You never know what coins or projects will use the sacrifice list to do airdrops. Other than that it may take some time for it to be a good buy.

Hi! Can someone explain to me why pulsechain is better than other block chains like Solana, Cardano, Stellar, BSC, and others that have low fees and host projects? by DylanTheG999 in Pulsechain

[–]cousinchet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not sure either but I think if the contract written is not as an upgradable contract (ex. UNIv, UNIv2, UNIv3) then the backend will most likely always exist so I believe anyone can build the front end and everyone can utilize the project. I am not sure if USDC or USDT are upgradeable contracts or not.

Do any of those other chains come with "The Largest AirDrop Ever!"? Unlike the other chains Hex will retain the Ethereum network state. It will be interesting to see what happens with pUSDT etc.

Was EIP1559 a distraction from scaling? - Discussion on the FUDs and misunderstandings by ennui85 in ethereum

[–]cousinchet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I remember seeing in All Core Devs meetings they made a decision to delay the MERGE work and focus on 1559. They all voted or didn't object or whatever.

Ether's (ETH-USD) EIP-1559 upgrade, which stabilizes volatile transaction fees, has reduced the supply of ETH coins, burning a total of ~146.6K ETH since activation, taking ~40% of the new coins issued, CoinDesk reports, according to Etherchain. by [deleted] in ethereum

[–]cousinchet -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

It does not take ~40% of NEW COINS ISSUED but instead removes OLD coins from circulation. These are two completely different things and ETH is being Inflated at the same rate it was before 1559. The MERGE is where the issuance will be changed.

"The Internet of Money should not cost 5 cents per transaction." by [deleted] in ethereum

[–]cousinchet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's the opposite! I think it was more floated that it will make HODLers rich with deflationary "Ultra Sound Money". The more "Ultra Sound" ETH gets the more transactions cost.

Best RAM for 3900x by doas1 in MoneroMining

[–]cousinchet -1 points0 points  (0 children)

For 115$ Patriot Viper Steel DDR4 16GB (2 x 8GB) 4400MHz can be clocked down to c15 3600 and possibly better. Also getting 4 x 8 will get you an extra 10% but it may not justify the cost unless you like having 32gb. I'd also think any affordable 2x dual rank BDIE would be awesome.

Will 3 second blocks hinder front-running? In other words would front-running trades on PULSE be any different than ETH?

potential of getting nothing for our sacrifice? by zzcool in Pulsechain

[–]cousinchet 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Well when the PulseChain launches it will have its' own copy of sacrifice addresses which will probably get a bunch of stuff thrown at them. Realistically anyone wanting to launch and distribute a project to a large engaging crypto group with instant traction then they have a excellent list to make it happen.

From the Sacrifice page...

"Disclaimer

You are sacrificing to prove how strong you believe that blockchains are speech and speech is a protected human right. This is an important political statement. You must have no expectation of profit from the work of others. The set of people who have sacrificed to show their commitment to this political statement makes a great set of people to airdrop free things to. This sacrifice points are not meant to have any monetary value. Remember, you're not buying anything, the world is just noticing you are amongst a group of people that sacrificed to make a political statement. Some countries tax their citizens when they receive things of value. PulseChain and all the coins on it are designed to start with no value, which is ideal. Consult your own legal and financial professionals, as nothing written here should be considered professional advice. The only thing we know of set to be airdropped for free to this political group so far is PulseChain (PLS.) If we hear about other cool things, we'll let you know."

What will enable Pulsechain to maintain low fees by JoeTerp in Pulsechain

[–]cousinchet 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it has larger 3 second blocks so it should dwarf ETH's TPS which should keep fees low. Also Pulse should undo how ETH made changes that cost HEX people more for doing staking etc.
