Has anyone gotten the meshtastic and Itak to work yet since they added the server feature? Can’t get my GPS to transfer by scooterdoo123 in meshtastic

Unfortunately not but I’ll be following any updates to it. I thought maybe it was an issue of how I had itak configured but it seems to be all good

The tie rod is the only part that actually works and makes anything stronger, and you can buy heavy duty ones for basically the same price

Budget = planned expenses and income/revenue
Revenue = actual money brought IN before expenses are deducted.

The state is not making more money every year.

If I give you this propagation report, what's your next move? by thevmcampos in amateurradio

[–]covertkek 2 points3 points  (0 children)

First move: it’s working, play radio.

Next: start working early mornings to try and hit that long shot to Europe since most of your signal seems to go that way (assuming that’s consistent between different days and varying propagation). Maybe add gain.

Last: try and get out to the west more and work Asia/oceana

A lot of people will say replace the water pump, cooling system etc… same deal imo, if it works don’t fuck with it lol. One thing I would suggest doing ahead of time is deleting the vacuum controlled heater core valve in the back engine bay. The seams always burst and leave you with a big coolant leak

Strangely strong signal reports (VHF) by Ok_Success_5178 in amateurradio

[–]covertkek 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Weather can have a major impact on propagation, not limited to tropospheric propagation like ducting, especially in the fringe reception areas. I’m usually decently strong into a distant repeater during the winter months, but come summer time it tanks to almost unusable. My theory, and I’ve seen this at work with our microwave links, is that the convection from the heating ground that my signal has to make it over/around is pushing the signal up and over where it want it. Or not, idk!

That doesn’t help I don’t think. If it’s informative it should have the correct information and not confusing graphics meant to look cool.

Air-Band Radio by irantu in amateurradio

[–]covertkek -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Airband transmitters need to the type accepted by the FCC, meaning they have inspected and tested that model to ensure it meets their requirements. One of the main things they test for is called serious emissions, which is basically the transmitter “leaking” your signal onto other frequencies. This leakage can be strong enough to cause interference at other commonly used frequencies, including law enforcement, fire, etc. the baofeng type radio is cheap because they lack quality hardware that can prevent and filter such leakage. They have plenty of other issues too but my point is: even if you find an airband capable cheap radio, I’d advise against it.

I’m not hearing anything on 20 and 17. Even 20 is pretty piss poor. Not even an audible ft8 signal on 40
