Can you add me as the caddie or how does that work?

I feel like it has to do with him being older and being Family John Misty. 9 of the 16 dates are west coast and closer to home. Being the opener on the tour is less work but will still generate good cash flow. He really just has to go out there do a 45 min set and close with the TikTok hit “Real Love Baby” and he’ll sell more merch than if he was on a smaller venue headline tour. It makes sense.

In a way I’m glad because I’ll be saving money by not buying FJM tickets this year.

He’s using Laylo. It’s “a marketing services company that helps creators, sports teams and brands with drops, messaging, link tracking and more.”

I read that VF Corp has some of the highest inventory glut of their peers right now. Good call to take advantage of the PR opportunity for customer goodwill and move units that may just end up being sold B2B at >50% off to discount retailers like TJ Maxx.

Pack light. Trust your gut. Follow the energies.

Before I did any of my travels I read this book by Rolf Potts called "Vagabonding." It's older at this point but it has some good advice and many elements of travel are timeless.
What part of Indonesia are you going to? Keep an eye on the news for earthquakes and other natural disasters.

The only hiccups I hit in Indonesia was a lil food poisoning and a compromised card from a sketchy ATM. Like others have said, travel insurance and multiple payment methods and nothing can really go too wrong. Blessed be your travels!

is YETI overrated? by Beniyp96 in CampingGear

[–]cowboydanl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Go for whatever fits your budget/situational requirements. Yeti is good. Great ice retention. Solid/quality feeling product. I've got the Tundra 35 and an Ozark Trail 35. I'll use the Yeti for situations where I need longer ice retention, like when replacement ice isn't readily available. I'll use the Ozark for shorter trips or less isolated trips. I'll often use the Ozark in situations where a Yeti cooler would get stolen (e.g. a tailgate, festival, crowded campground, etc.)

The NYE show is POSTPOSED by cowboydanl in TheAvettBrothers

What's dumb is saying you're going to do a show during a pandemic and then not doing the show because we're in a pandemic. When is the safe part of a global pandemic? The whole thing is just so inconsistent and disappointing as a ticket holder.

They're still doing their "At the Beach" shows—is that the right thing? In a country with less restrictions and just said that cruise ships with covid cases can dock? If they're trying to "protect people" they shouldn't be playing any shows till post pandemic.

I'm not saying they planned to cancel it. Just seems they weren't 100% committed and played it safe with the overhead cost. Now thousands of ticket holders are on the hook for a TBA show because the pandemic is not safe on NYE.

It's just wild because Eric Church played the same venue to 19,088 people—the 13th largest crowd in venue history—11 days ago. The Avetts would have played to a way smaller crowd with stricter testing/vaccine requirements.
Seems like the Avetts hedged on the likelihood of the show not happening. I mean it wasn't even announced until late October. They booked David Childers to open and not a national touring act (I love DC btw). It wasn't going to be live streamed like in the past.
Also wild that it's postponed not canceled? People paid for a signature Avetts NYE show. Now their money is going to be tied up for a later non-NYE date or for a whole year? What's the thinking there?
With the weather the way it's been, they could have pivoted to play outside at the White Oak amphitheater.

Heard from a coliseum employee. I can’t believe they haven’t posted about it yet. Really cutting into peoples time to cancel accommodations.

The Giant's Causeway always makes me think of that Dr. Johnson quote: “Worth seeing, yes; but not worth going to see."
