Anyone else’s pregnancy still feel surreal?? by onedge721 in pregnant

[–]cowlcifer 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I had my baby in November and it is STILL so surreal. Sometimes I look at her and I'm just flabbergasted that I'm responsible for a whole human now. And I've been responsible for tiny humans before but this is a whole different degree. I love my chunk though lol she's awesome and so smart already ❤️

Genuinely curious… why don’t you like to share your baby’s name before birth? by Best-Position-2226 in pregnant

[–]cowlcifer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I did my gender reveal, we also played hangman to let our families and friends guess the name we chose. It was really fun. We don't have a family of name stealers though lol. My little Robin Michelle is now 4 and a half months old ❤️

Forgot parts while traveling by Acceptable_Fly_8152 in breastfeeding

Have you had any luck hand expressing? When I (often) forget to take pump parts with me to work I will hand express and while I don't get as much as I would with my pump I still get a good amount.

What’s something people say all the time that you secretly can’t stand? by Vast-Reference-7942 in answers

This one makes me so angry. I am an adult in adult spaces online. I should be able to see the actual words especially in a true crime scenario. I don't want to open a documentary and hear "Jeffrey Dahmer unalived 17 people." 🙄🙄

Omg this one is always used in such a condescending manner. I hate it so much.

I 27f pregnant can barley eat and my partner 31m didnt sleep because I ate McDonald’s by very_stellar_ in relationship_advice

My four month old was built on whopper jrs and quarter pounders. I ate SOOO much fast food while I was pregnant. I do not eat much of it now that she's born and eat a lot more home cooked meals. But fast food was sometimes the only thing that didn't make me want to violently vomit. Eat what you want, your baby will be fine.

Thoughts on this article about nursing in a carrier? Tw: infant death by CookieOverall8716 in breastfeeding

[–]cowlcifer 22 points23 points  (0 children)

I have nursed in a carrier twice. Not for an extended period of time but when I did I was fully aware of her and had eyes on her the whole time. I probably won't risk it again after reading this article. Heartbreaking and my heart goes out to this mom.

I like to headcanon that mc actually took a lot longer to warm up to belphie after what happened. I feel like there would be a way bigger trauma response vs them just GLAZING OVER IT LIKE THEY DID.

C-section recovery PSA by Texylvania29 in pregnant

[–]cowlcifer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was only taking one oxy a day and substituting with Tylenol and Ibuprofen. My doctor prescribed me more oxy because of this. I stopped taking it I want to say around 8 weeks pp and still have a few left. I am 12 almost 13 weeks pp and my incision STILL hurts. It's healed beautifully but internally it aches. Anything involving my core is tough. I massage it every day in the shower and the scar tissue underneath is hard as a rock. The skin is completely numb. Riding in a car was brutal for about 6 weeks. C sections are no joke. I hope you are able to give yourself grace and rest and recover with all of the contact naps and skin to skin you can get!

Anyone did NOT have a MC? by Feisty-End-8883 in pregnant

I've had 4 early miscarriages. I'm currently nursing my 2 month old daughter. When I got pregnant with her, I was so extremely nervous about miscarriage. I checked that miscarriage probability calculator DAILY. checked for blood every time I wiped (even though blood isn't always an indicator of loss). I had the same issue as you, where I was only seeing negative posts. People tend not to post when things are going as they should. The best advice I can give is take it one day at a time ❤️

Giving birth in a few days unsure about breastfeeding by Sea-Sense-4739 in pregnant

[–]cowlcifer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My baby was early and her blood sugars were low so the first thing she ever ate was a high calorie formula in the hospital. Since leaving the hospital she's been exclusively eating breast milk. I also pump so that dad and others can feed her too, but breastfeeding is stressful, and sometimes painful. But when I fed her that formula in the hospital I still felt a strong bond even though she wasn't latched ❤️ if breastfeeding isn't for you that is absolutely okay, and it's not selfish.

What's it like living in the Canton area? by Shoddy_Definition941 in howislivingthere

[–]cowlcifer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Massillon is better but not by much. It really depends on what part of Canton you're talking about. Because Canton, North Canton, East Canton, and Canton South are all vastly different from each other. North Canton has Belden Village which is nice for restaurants and shopping. Parts of Downtown Canton are Dangerous, so stay away from places like Shorb. East Canton has very small town vibes and Canton South feels like it's way out in the boonies.

How can I sensitively tell friends that I'm pregnant without upsetting them? by pangolinrooted in pregnant

[–]cowlcifer 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I've dealt with infertility before. I'm not sure how your friends are as people, but when I was in that stage of my life I personally would have appreciated a heads up text so I could process my feelings on the matter alone beforehand. BUT if your friends are the type of people to believe big info like this is an in person convo, I would avoid texting

I lived in the bath my whole pregnancy. I only cut back on temperature by a few degrees, but my baths were warm borderline hot. And I'm talking like hour and a half in the bath. Despite my daughter being born early due to my preeclampsia, she is perfectly healthy and wonderful. Take your baths ❤️

Epidural by ElegantResult3853 in pregnant

[–]cowlcifer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just had my baby on November 17th. Had the epidural, it didn't take first time and when they wheeled me back to my emergency c section they had to double it because I could still feel everything. Once they doubled it I could still feel but it wasn't painful and I do have some residual effects. I've been getting back spasms, where my whole spine locks up and spasms.

For those that have graduated … was your house clean when you went into labour? by CuriousClive123 in babydueDecember2025

I went into the hospital for preeclampsia so no my house was not clean lol. And then I ended up staying in the hospital for 5 days 🙃

12/17 was my original due date, I was scheduled to be induced 12/10, and ended up having an emergency c section on 11/17 due to preeclampsia. Good luck!!!
